A boat incident occurred on the morning of October 17, on the Chao Phraya River near Klong Phee Lok, within Soi Phet Hueng 33, Bang Krachao, Samut Prakan, leaving the boat driver dead. Police Lieutenant Sayan Phupanna of Phra Pradaeng Police Station received the alert at around 11:00.

The boat driver, identified as 73-year-old Mr. Decha, was operating a small longtail boat approximately 5 metres long. The passengers, 39-year-old Mr. Montri and 40-year-old Mr. Thanaphat, were not seriously injured, although both were exhausted after swimming to safety. Rescuers from the Bang Krachao Subdistrict Administration Organisation provided immediate assistance.

The two employees had boarded the boat earlier that morning to check and read electricity meters located along the river. At around 09:10, the boat began taking on water due to a leak. Strong river currents contributed to the boat capsizing, sweeping Mr. Decha away while the passengers managed to reach safety.

Rescue teams, including divers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation and the Royal Thai Navy, launched a search operation. The boat was eventually found, and the body of the missing driver was recovered at approximately 13:40 by divers.
