5 year multiple entry DTV visa (Destination Thailand) from 2024-xx-xx
He thinks they will cancel it because of the Elite? I think that overpriced option's ship has sailed. If they had enough money/power to prevent the DTV, they would have. In what other way does the DTV "not make economic sense for Thailand"?? People with money / income stay and spend that money here vs spending it in other countries. That "makes economic sense" to me. After a year or so of "no problem with my DTV reports" being passed among expats - many who left, swearing never to deal with Thai immigration again, due to their past behavior - might even return and start spending their money here, again. -

Wall street very convinced ,its gonna be Trump
How convinced Wall Street is that Trump will win has nothing to do with how they will vote, or if they want him to win, it only has to do with how they will bet. From what I see, big finance is far and away supporting Harris, that's who I think they want to win. -

Meet Revolut, the Financial Super App That Puts You in Control
100+ frauds reported to BBC, but thousands reported in total. Looks like twice as much as Monzo but Barclays aren't too far behind. I know already how rubbish Barclays can be just getting normal stuff done, let alone in an emergency. I use them solely for fast transfers. I haven't tested them as a recipient of my client's invoicing yet, but even if I do, that money will simply pass through to conventional banks or make a short-term, low-value "family vacation" or "student allowance" fund. -

The Grey or Unofficial Economy - Tax Implications
Numerous members have said that TRD should make Thai nationals pay tax, before making foreign residents pay and but they seem unwilling to do this. A regular tax poster took me to task (as is his frequent want and need) for saying that most Thai nationals don't earn enough to warrant filing a return, once TEDA is taken into account, so I dug into things more deeply. The population is circa 70 million but the workforce is only 38 million, the rest are too young, too old, too inform, too incarcerated or too something to be included. About 11% of the population (7.7 mill) files a tax return but only around 6% pay tax. Most of that 11% will be from the workforce which means 20% of the workforce files a return, a more reasonable sounding number. Ah yes you say, but most people work cash in hand and don't declare their earnings. Possibly, but dig into that headline more deeply and all is not what it first appears. The informal economy or grey market is said to equal 50% of GDP or around 8 trillion baht. Divide that amount by the number of people in the workforce and the average national wage of 15,000 baht per month increases to 30,000 baht. BUT, over 55% of workers in the informal economy are agricultural workers, who earn two times lower than their counterparts in the formal economy. What all that leaves us with is around 25% of the workforce who have informal earnings that are not declared, those are the people the TRD needs to target. But the answer to the question, why don't Thai's file tax returns is simply answered, most of them don't earn enough to qualify to do so. "IF the average wage nationwide is 15k per month, most married couples with one child have enough in TEDA to qualify to not file a return". Lastly, it's interesting that many foreigners who move to Thailand, do so for the lower cost of living. Yet they earn between three and six times the average wage but complain they are being made to pay tax when their much poorer hosts do not! Hmmm. The size of Thailand's informal economy is estimated to be 48.4% of GDP (THB18.7 trill.) More than half of informal workers, 55.4%, are in the agricultural sector, earning nearly two times lower than their counterparts in the formal sector. Visit Thailand for just under 90 days with Thai wife. Visa advice please.
I think you can use local income to satisfy the 40k per month too, it does not have to come from overseas, (same as if you get an in-country Non-O based on marriage, that money does not have to have come from overseas). If you are applying for a 1-year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national, the Thai immigration authorities will accept proof of income from within Thailand, provided that it meets the financial requirements. Here are the basic requirements for the marriage visa extension: Financial Requirements: You must show a monthly income of at least 40,000 THB. Alternatively, you can show a bank balance of 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account, held for at least 2 months before the application. Proof of Income: If you are using Thai income, you must present proof such as: Pay slips from a Thai employer. A letter from your employer confirming your salary. A tax return (Por Ngor Dor 91) showing your income. Proof of self-employment income if you run your own business. Certification: The income must usually be certified by the relevant government agencies in Thailand, such as the Revenue Department if it is derived from employment or self-employment. Other Documents Required: Marriage certificate (Kor Ror 2). Marriage registration documents (Kor Ror 3). Copies of your spouse's Thai ID card and household registration (Tabien Baan). Photos of you and your spouse together at home, in different areas of the house, to prove cohabitation. Make sure you check the latest requirements with the local immigration office, as rules and processes can vary slightly depending on the province. -

3BB Fibernet installation in a condo
if it is fiber optic cable and you have the "ONT" and modem in your room then go for this option...if it is not a fiber cable but the existing coaxial cable or ADSL twisted pair phone line cable then look for another provider/option. Often the condo management have a "rather cozy" deal with a certain telecom company and will only allow that company to install internet services ask them who the allow. Other than that you can look at a cellular 5G mobile internet package and associated modem which is a second rate choice but would allow you more options..if the condo management wont cooperate. -

Tourist Van Accident in Prachuap Khiri Khan: 8 Injured, 1 Dead
90 kph and it's a stretch of straight road. Rear blow out should be easy enough to control @ 90 kph. 1800 hrs, so should be enough traffic to keep him paying attention.
