The incident occurred on October 22, when a number of large glass panes, collapsed and shattered, piercing the body of a Burmese worker, resulting in his death. The incident took place at a construction site of a housing project on Baan Hua Sai Road, Nong Pla Lai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.

 

Upon receiving the report, Police Lieutenant Colonel Sorasuphan Athanasriyanon, Deputy Inspector (Investigation), Bang Lamung Police Station, rushed to the scene along with rescue units from Sawang Boriboon Foundation in Pattaya. Upon arrival, they found a large group of workers gathered around the scene, desperately trying to save their colleague, who was trapped inside an 18-wheeler container truck, license plate registered in Bangkok.

 

Inside the container were several large panes of glass, all of which had shattered into pieces. Beneath the debris lay the lifeless body of Mr. Kaung San Wint, a 21-year-old Burmese national. He was found forced against other construction materials, with fatal injuries to his neck and face caused by the broken glass.

 

Eyewitnesses recounted that the container truck had been delivering glass and construction materials to the site. The deceased had climbed onto the truck to move the glass panes when they suddenly toppled over, crushing him beneath their weight, as the panes shattered upon impact..

 

Initial investigations suggest that while Mr. Kaung San Wint was attempting to unload the glass, but the stacked panes, resting against the side of the container became unstable and collapsed. The police have taken photographs and documented the scene.

 

Several other workers sustained minor injuries during the incident, including the site manager, a Chinese national, who was cut on his left wrist by broken glass while attempting to assist.
 

Authorities are now working to contact the victim's family and a detailed investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
