They could still be part of the coalition only as another party and not holding PM position depending on the outcome that would go to Anutin.  What it would fo though is put the elite back in power until thaksin figures out his next step.

Then it would be ppp and partyX (formerly PTP) moving no confidence.

The elite are in power albeit in a coalition and Anutin will not do anything to get them offside. PTP cannot get out of the coalition because they know the next election will not be good for them. PP must win a clear majority next election.

Agreed, but if Thaksin gets hit, then the party takes a hit also and loses their PM as well as the main characters.  There is also a name change.  Since they have used 2 of 3 and found number 3 unsuitable that would mean Anutin gets the chance to form the next government. Unless all parties get hit and I am not sure the courts would do that it would throw the whole country into turmoil and could definitely lead to a coup

Ridicolous, I notice Thailand seem to like never letting problems go!  (And never resolving moe important issues of today, like road deaths etc)

This is their way of not having to deal with any hot issues.  Government changes hands then they don't have to deal with little things like

10K to the rest of the country

gay marriage

Casino

low fare one price fares on BTS/MRT

higher minimum wage

constitution amendment

changes to taxation

Marijuana

Yes the last 8 are bold because they both really hit the rich elites

Form the next government with whom? No PTP in a coalition the PP will have the numbers. I think it's also worth bearing in mind that at the next election PTP are going to take a big hit and the progressive PP will extend their numbers.

Exactly, they are locked in. They cannot do without PTP.

Doesn't matter who has the numbers, as they already said only the people who were originally put forward as PM candidates during the election are allowed to be PM.  Move Forward only put forward one candidate, which was Pita, and he's now banned from politics.  PP has gone through their options, which means the only people who are left that are allowed to be PM are from the other parties, the largest of which is Anutin's party and he was put forward as candidate.  Makes him PM almost by default.

At this point they just need to dissolve parliament and call for new elections.
