Sticks and stones will break your bones but being called woke never hurt anyone. I’m still trying to get my head around why being called woke could be an insult especially when it comes from someone who makes shallow comments about another person’s physical appearance. I think the world needs more woke people if name calling is a prerequisite for not being woke.

It takes an idiot of quantifiably bottom-of-the-barrel intelligence to believe they can drink and drive safely. To suggest “millions do it safely every day” is an even deeper plunge into delusion; they aren’t doing it safely - those drivers and everyone around them are merely relying on blind luck. This isn't bravery or skill; it's sheer, dumb stupidity cloaked in denial, a gamble with lives they have no right to risk. 1 2

When the passenger slammed the door, it led to a heated exchange, resulting in the attack. Sounds more like the taxi driver trying to extort the foreigner led to the door slamming, which then led to the taxi driver attacking the foreigner. So I guess attacking a customer with a knife means he'll lose his licence, right? Right?!
grubman Posted October 26 Posted October 26 So by reading another news article, the story is a little different, The Australian gent was picked up with a Thai Man from Soi 2 Silom and during their journey to their hotel an argument broke out between the 2 passengers, when the Australian man demanded the taxi to stop, the Australian bang the taxi violently and slammed then slammed the door closed, the taxi driver them got out demanding that he pay the fair, which he refused and an altercation broke out and the taxi driver took his box cutter knife from the glove box and was waving it around and unintentionally stab the Australian and then fled the scene and returned the other passenger back to Soi 2 Silom This to me put a whole other spin on the story, not that the taxi driver was in the right to stab anyone but he was really not the instigator, he was just wanting to get the money owed to him for the Taxi ride. I think the Taxi drive knew exactly what he was doing with the knife and it was not an accident that the Australian was stabbed, Take it how you see it but that's my thoughts. 2

So Fatty is arguing with one Thai, then he slams the door of another Thai and then tries to rip him off. And got scratched. He looks like a big fat baby in the photo. Deport the scum. 1 1

So why is it coming back to fat shaming again, Why not just say the Australian tourist or just Tourist, Yes we can all see by the pictures that he is carrying a few extra pound, but there is no need to keep emphasizing that fact, if it was a fit muscular guy or a slim guy would your comment be the Macho Man or the bag of bones guy. I don't think so, so why point out that he's not a poster model looking guy I guess that you have nothing better to do within you life then to heckle and put other down That's my Whine, now where's the cheese.........

Nice Holden. some fat people are socially inept. They don’t care about themselves and they don’t care about others. Some are bubbly. If Fatty had of accepted the apology instead of putting his spoiled face on I probably would have been more sympathetic. Plus he was arguing with the other Thai, slammed the door and refused to pay the fare. Fatty looked like he was spoiled as a child and they fed him too much. if it was a Mr Macho he probably would not have acted that way and would have been able to disarm the taxi driver and avoid injury.

So from one picture you can tell that he was a spoilt kid that was over feed, and a Mr. Macho would never act like that, What rock have you been living under, So why stereo type some one because they have a few extra pounds. You don't know 100% reason the incident occurred or why the argument started or if the driver got involved in the argument in the first place. The end of the day the Taxi drive acted out violently with a weapon, in most countries that is a criminal act, but because the guy is a "Fatty" as per you it his fault By the way the Holden is great and took a long time to restore here in Thailand. 1

This thread will bring out the anti thai taxi driver brigade. A thai bashing favorite, right up near the top. personally I have always found Bangkok taxis to be cheap and plentiful. Better than the expensive ones back in the UK. For me the cheap taxis is one of the good things about Bangkok. Cheap and plentiful in Bangkok but have"nt got a clue as to their knowledge of the local area unlike London's black cabs, cheap yes, you get what u pay for ...

mdr224 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Seems like a tough living driving there all day. Id be inclined to pay extra for a grab premium car to lessen the chances of getting someone reckless
