In a dramatic turn of events, a man in Phatthalung bravely drove his pickup truck into a motorcycle that had fired a gun at him, resulting in vehicle damage but no injuries. The motorcyclist fled the scene.

At midnight on October 26, police officers, led by Lt. Pakorn Chaiprom from Lam Pam Police Station, arrived at the residence of the deputy village head in Phaya Khan Subdistrict, Mueang Phatthalung District. They were called by Mr. Porntep (surname withheld), 41, who, along with four friends, had been in an Isuzu pickup truck. He reported that an unidentified motorcyclist had fired shots at his vehicle, damaging the passenger door and front bumper.

According to Mr. Porntep, he and five friends had been relaxing at Laem Pam Beach before heading home. They noticed a black Vigo pickup being chased and shot at by a motorcyclist but had not been involved in any altercations themselves. When the motorcyclist failed to catch up with the Vigo, he slowed down and began targeting Mr. Porntep’s pickup.

The gunman fired again, hitting the passenger door. Mr. Porntep, seizing the opportunity, made a U-turn and rammed his vehicle into the motorcycle, which was now parked on the roadside. The motorcycle sustained significant damage, and the rider fled into a nearby alley.

Mr. Porntep immediately sought help from the deputy village head, who called the police. Authorities found a 9mm shell casing and bullet fragments at the scene.

Police have identified the suspect and are currently investigating before proceeding with legal action.
