I cancelled Netflix because I was so busy watching  reruns of Jan6 bodycams/tiktok/congresionnal hearings plus more and more videos/montage unearthed by the week, month, year, And my guilty pleasures are watching the Jan6 felons getting snapped up down the weeks, months, years, the gift that keep on giving. "Let Go of Me!!" is how "these ""decent Americans" will start coming to their senses."

To answer the op its all confirmation bias, people living inside their own echo chambers unwilling to come out, loyalty and tribalism and a bizarre emotional attachment. 

 

That and they are probably a bit dim. Like who on earth thought it would be OK for a comic to demonize ethnic minorities like Puerto Rica's at the MSG rally on the weekend and brush it off as a stupid racist joke like JDV has subsequently done when many of the swing states have these ethnic minorities, some of whom will be pissed and can swing the vote on a dime.

After graduating from an international Swiss boarding school where I befriended lots of Americans I went to University in the States. I was shocked, gobsmacked by the ignorance of the average American high school student. They were completely different from my friends.

The question "where you from" became from The Hague, Netherlands to across that big, big water to the east of America.
