"Organic" fruit at BigC?

With all the publicity, grapes are sold out.

BigC sells stuff from the King's project, I did believe them, and it probably is impossible to get them independently tested.

They also sell stuff from npfood.com, a very secretive company from Ladkrabang, all-English. Seems not trustworthy to me.

Any trusted way to get organic food?

The only solution is to grow yourself, they repack and rebrand fruit and vegetables from all over the world. So what's truly ecological is hard to know. The prices is hilarious at Marked Villa and tops, just to mention a few places.

I know my farmer family spray their beens up to 10 days before harvesting, and most likely sell the as organic.

We grow as much as possible our self, and the quality is priceless.

Growing my own stuff is a bit difficult here in central Bangkok.

Thanks for the answers,  both of you, but you only confirm my problem.

Yes, I avoid fruit and vegetables from temperate climates,  like apples or grapes, because it will be from China.

But you cannot live from durian alone...

I have little faith in Thai food labels and when I purchase organic produce, I try to buy the foreign options. My local Lotus has some Australian organic products. I can sometimes find US sourced organic  berries.

Not all fruit and vegetables need to be organic. One can safely consume some things without worry provided the   produce is thoroughly washed and scrubbed where necessary. I do try to  eat organic berries, apples,  and celery. The massive orange carrots  freak me out so I will buy the baby cut carrots from the USA. Whenever there is Japanese  fruit available, I will sometimes  buy that because they have pesticide standards.Sometimes you have to be prepared to visit a Tops and Villa Market too.

when Big C was owned by Carrefour the majority of fruit and veg was imported from Australia.

Would you trust an organic label from a retailer when the majority of produce is now Chineese.

Every so often you find organic apples from NZ. You can checkout Lemon Farm shops. They claim to be organic. You won't find apples or grapes there.Just locally grown fruit/veg in season.

Royal project produce is not organic and AFAIK the royal project has never tried to market it as organic, just better quality

It reminds me of the tomatoes in this country.

What a horrible mess they are, they look like apples, they are so hard,a ripe tomato should be soft and I don't understand it, there is enough sun, isn't there?

Why are there no decent tomatos in this country?

Edit: and yes I try to growing this by myself, but so far I have not succeeded.

I buy beef tomatoes on the vine. I know it sounds poncey but they look attractive and the flesh is juicy and soft. Er, sorry, wrong thread....
