Featured Replies

Last three morning had to fish at least sixty of these bugs out of the pool.
they swim, happily stay under water, they also can fly, given the chance they can nip you

Any idea what they are

A coin in the photo for a sense of scale would be helpful.

Dytiscidae

They get in my pool every now and then, then they go away.

Stupid little things. When you're sitting in the pool and they give you a nip.

It´s basically a regular Thai black beetle. You find them everywhere.

not in my pool... but we add chlorine

They might be Hydrophilidae.

They are gentle aquatic beetles that feed on vegetable matters.

There is also another kind of water bug that looks similar.

It is Predaceous Diving Beetle.

They live on other insects, small fish, and tadpoles.

They are both in 3-4cm.

In Thailand, they are both among the Edible Insects.
