Growing up in Nigeria heavily implies she had a Nigerian passport and/OR her parents gained dual citizenship.

Her Parents worked in Nigeria at the time, that's why she lived there

You don't live in the UK so makes sense that you couldn't care less.

Would be nice if you just admitted it though instead of virtue signalling

Thailand never colonised Felang Countries for 100's of years and Thailand didn't invite millions of felangs over to work in Thailand in the last 70 years , that is why the UK has Black/African Politicians and Thailand doesn't have Felang politicians

Propaganda has many whites bending over to all and sundry for thing a ruling class did hundreds of years ago.

Consider: The 'British' royal family is famously ethnically GERMAN.

They changed their name to 'Windsor' after WW1 as the natives were getting restless that the house of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha was starting trouble

ANYWAY why should indigenous Brits put up with the current BS (unlimited immigraration and foreigners running our political parties??????????

If you're saying it's fair cos of something some posh scumbags allegedly did hundereds of years ago we'll have to agree to disagree

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/nov/02/from-a-childhood-in-nigeria-to-tory-leader-the-remarkable-rise-of-kemi-badenoch

"

“To all intents and purposes, I am a first-generation immigrant,” she told the Commons in her 2017 maiden speech.

She was born British, as Olukemi Olufunto Adegoke, in a Wimbledon hospital in January 1980, before her parents took her home to Nigeria. Badenoch was among the last to benefit from the birthright citizenship rules which her heroine, Margaret Thatcher, would soon abolish in the 1981 British Nationality Act. She has compared her British passport to the golden ticket that let Charlie Bucket into Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.

Badenoch’s migration journey has shaped her worldview. She flew back as a 16-year-old to the Britain of 1996 – a country where no black or Asian citizen had ever been a government minister. She has said that being “a very angry young person” got her involved in politics, pushed rightwards by feeling patronised by careers advisers and development campaigners who did not value African voices.

Badenoch says that she wants skin colour to be no more relevant than hair colour – yet the identity politics of Kemi Badenoch often sound much more colour conscious than that. “I am Labour’s worst nightmare, they can’t paint me as prejudiced” was a recent Telegraph interview headline.

There is a tension too with her call for migration policy to reflect how much cultural differences matter.

Badenoch’s own experience of opportunity opening up underpins her insistence on Britain being the best country in the world in which to be black [???????]. Yet more than three-quarters of black Britons valued the message of the Black Lives Matter anti-racism protests in Britain [BS] – that the progress made leaves much more to do – while Badenoch primarily feared importing America’s racial conflicts to Britain.

She supported Tony Sewell’s review of ethnic disparities in its effort to reframe the narrative. Yet that turned the true story of an increasingly complex pattern of opportunities and outcomes into an extraordinarily polarised culture clash. As equalities minister, Badenoch pursued a much more constructive lower profile, such as her Inclusive Britain policy agenda which aimed to narrow the remaining gaps.

That has led some on the online right to now characterise her as too “woke” herself, while the left calls her a culture warrior on race and gender. Asked in the GB News leadership debate if it was time to call off the culture wars, Badenoch rejected that label as a “dog whistle to attack the right”. “We are defending our[???] culture, we are defending our[???] country,” she said.

Kemi Badenoch versus Robert Jenrick was an accidental contest after MPs playing tactical games eliminated James Cleverly by mistake. Robert Jenrick bet everything on Tory members choosing whoever offered the most red meat on immigration and human rights to win back votes lost to Nigel Farage. Tory members have defied stereotypes by rejecting that offer.

By turning opposing the ECHR into a new Tory litmus test, Jenrick gifted Kemi Badenoch new allies; George Osborne was among those surprised to find himself voting for her. Badenoch has somehow ended this contest as the “broad church” unity candidate within the party, despite her polarising reputation beyond it."

----

What an inversion.

Britain must be the only country in the world where the political class are so PC Gutless that they have to elect a black to point out that the gimmigration situation is so mental.

To remind everyone, (in case it hasn't yet been mentioned):

Her name is actually Olukemi Olufunto Adegoke Badenoch

Her parents are Nigerian, not British, and were not born in the UK

Although born in the UK herself, she spent her childhood and teenage years living in Nigeria.

She is quoted as saying that she is to all intents and purposes a first-generation immigrant

We are a strange nation, which see no conflicts of interest when appointing those with foreign parents to important political positions (think Sunak as well...)

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/londoners-diary/who-is-kemi-badenoch-blue-ambition-lord-ashcroft-b1173637.html :

"Olukemi Olufunto Adegoke was born in St Teresa’s Hospital, London, in January 1980 after ***her Nigerian parents*** travelled to Britain and paid for private healthcare.

Before 1983 people born in Britain were entitled to citizenship regardless of background.

Badenoch ***claims*** her parents did not realise she was eligible for a British passport .... The Adegokes also travelled to London in 1982 to give birth to another child, who also got a British passport."

How convenient!

Draw your own conclusions.

I'd like to check the receipts for the 'private healthcare' which lead to her UK birth but guess that's not possible so will have to take her word for it 🙄

In the US, Mexicans border jump when heavily pregnant as, if they are born on US soil, their children qualify for US citizenship.  I guess they don't realise that though and just get lucky too 😉

TBF to her parents though - most would want to escape from what the Don would call <deleted> hole countries so who can blame them?

I guess her parents wanted her to escape because the 'leaders' in Africa have a VERY bad track record so let's hope she can be an exception to the rule.

2 hours?!  Good grief - I have better things to do than run around to pamper to your impatience!  I've been sleeping soundly for the past few hours.

As to my claim, I have sent an email to the person who stated that she has dual nationality, asking for links/clarification.  If/when I receive a reply, then I'll post it here.  Either way, I'm not stopping MY world whilst waiting for that detail.

IMHO, any person who is born of foreign (not British nationality parents), should not be allowed to hold high political office in the UK, regardless of whether they hold a British passport.  That is regardless of their religion, race or skin colour.
