These ladyboys are off the chain.. Something wrong with Thai mentality lately thinking it is ok to attack foreigners for even a simple misunderstanding. What is worse is that when they are caught on video and the police actually get out of their office to do something. The only thing they do is collect cash and let the attackers go with a warning. Assault is Assault. Does not matter the reason for it unless defending ourself. Those ladyboys as well as others who attack people with violence should be arrested, charged and convicted and go to jail for awhile.

I don't think this is just "lately". I've read about these incidents since long before I came here in 2013. The only difference between now and 20 years ago is video cameras capturing it and putting it instantly on the web. And you can go all the way back in history to find violence against non paying "Johns" and it's not particular to trans women. In the US hookers or their pimps would lay waste to anyone who crossed them. That includes gang behavior among heterosexual women. As far as what "should" be done, that's when I remember that I'm the foreigner, it's their country, and it's not my job to preach to them or impose my morality on their status quo. I simply choose to be educated and make sure I don't make any messes that I can't clean up myself.

Doubtful. Something more serious than that.

Not always.  Sometimes these troubled individuals will instigate a confrontation for something which exists only in their troubled minds.  I was attacked by one in the middle of Walking Street Pattaya - as far as I can guess he/she/it/whatever just ran out of a bar and hit me, AFAIK I'd never seen him/her/it/whatever before in my life.  Mistaken identity?  Imagined I'd looked at him/her/it/whatever the "wrong way"?  Just in a bad mood?  I have no idea.  I felt it best not to engage in any way as these always seem to fight in groups, I just kept walking.

On another occasion, whilst walking opposite Royal Garden plaza, I was receiving persistent unwanted attention from one who was probably showing off to "colleagues" .  A loud "mai ow" (loud enough for his friends across the road to hear) and he just scuttled away without any fuss.  These people are unpredictable.

Some people just trigger others by their appearance or manner. Since 1962 I've been potentially at risk on countless occasions all over Thailand but never even remotely threatened.

What's with this "transwoman" bolloccks?

The Don is back in charge now so no more fxxking made up names that the Dems supported.

We are in Thailand, these guys are ladyboys.

I was thinking the same thing. "Transwomen", "Transgender", & "Ladyboy" all used in the same article to refer to mentally whacked men.
I guess some people are just as confused as they are about  themselves!

...the foreign man had a dispute with the driver over the fare...

It seems that the foreign man was double-troubled at the same time on One Same Day.

The old advert, "I can't believe it's not Butter" can also be used in the case of Ladyboys, just change one word and bingo you have nailed it! Or maybe not!

You have to hand it to them though, they have some balls attacking men in the street like that!

Maybe they should have a warning printed on a T-shirt saying: "Caution may contain Nuts!"

Excellent!

All the folks saying he must have done something wrong.  Maybe.  But I can tell you first hand some of them are on a razors edge emotionally from both the hormones they are taking and street drugs like yaba.

I use to live on Soi 13 in Pattaya.  My morning routine (sun just creeping up) was walk to McDonalds On Beach Road and Soi Yamato for coffee (me and Jimmy Page agree it's the best coffee in Pattaya another long story), then do a lap of beach Road.  I had to walk past the Beach Road end of Soi Post Office which usually had between 3-6 ladyboys who were hanging around looking for one more trick I assume.  Very aggressive.  I was always polite and just said "go jogging go exercise" and they would let me be.  But I can imagine some green tourist just lipping off a little bit and it would be on.
