Here are a couple of articles which might explain why they are having difficulties finding a suitable interpreter:-

The first link carries a story of how their original interpreter was attacked in the street after representing them and then was subsequently charged with drug offences by the RTP - not exactly going to have people queuing up to help them after that.

The second link tells, amongst other things, how the court tried to appoint an interpreter provided by the Chinese government which the defendants disagreed with but were told by the court to suck it up.

Amazing!  Thanks for the post & links. I knew it was bad, just never knew how bad.

I recall after the bombing the Thai police literally were clueless, no ideas, what was worse, that fact was apparent to a lot of Thai people. No real idea how to conduct a real crime scene investigation too. People saw that. Criticism mounted and then after 5 days or a week of silence. The Thai police flooded the media with information. One to three releases per day, per week, months. So much information, they confused everyone with what was real or just made up. Something claimed, then dropped, then another theory.  Finally an arrest, again multiple theories, a confession, but a confession by torture. One of the biggest furballs in recent Thai police history and that is saying something. Still A gaslighting tour de force performance by the BIB. A new standard was set. With the final arrest and case put to bed. No real belief that was the guy or that he was even involved. Like the two Burmese workers on Koh Tao, patsies were needed.

“Insufficient evidence” means someone cannot be convicted. Forensic evidence, security cameras, eye witness accounts are needed. Knowing someone is not enough.

Does the timing of this case dismissal hold any coincidence to the recent statue of limitations expiring on the Tak Bai massacre case?

I was just there when it happened,, I had friends ringing me asking if i was alright, the tv companies were showing the before the explosion and  they saw me standing there talking to some guy , 5 mins before it went off,, I have always thought this was a botched  Surveillance, because there  were two cameras operating as they showed what happened,, and for some reason, both cameras were watching and following the bomber ,, first one, for some reason, was pointing down the street watching him approach, then when he enters , the second camera follows him, as he enters, follows him as he walks to the bench, and then follows him as he sits down,  and again when he gets up and walks out,,, the cameras paid no attention to anyone else,,  its as if they knew he was coming and had the camera people watching him,, I even pointed it  out to a journalist , and stated, as they knew he was coming,, they can not admit that,, but he will be conveniently caught within a couple of days,,,  and he was . so I think they thought he was doing a rehearsal , but screwed up because obviously , it was not.

Seems fair enough, 7 years of her life gone

Actually to me, that seems very unfair, given that she was not found guilty of the crimes and assuming the verdict was correct, which it sounds to be to my Western ears and the reporting given here.
