Trump Declares “No Price Tag” on Mass Deportation Plan in NBC Interview

In an exclusive interview with NBC News, President-elect Donald Trump outlined his plan for one of the largest mass deportations in U.S. history, which he said is a necessary step to fortify the country’s borders. He reiterated his campaign pledge to build a “strong and powerful” border as one of his administration's first priorities. Responding to questions about his commitment to mass deportations, Trump emphasized that his administration would have “no choice” but to implement the plan.

 

Trump described his electoral victory over Vice President Kamala Harris as a mandate for what he called "common sense" policies. “We obviously have to make the border strong and powerful, and we have to — at the same time, we want people to come into our country,” he said. “And you know, I’m not somebody that says, ‘No, you can’t come in.’ We want people to come in.”

 

During his campaign, Trump promised to lead the “largest deportation effort in American history.” When asked about the potential cost, he responded, “It’s not a question of a price tag. It’s not — really, we have no choice. When people have killed and murdered, when drug lords have destroyed countries, and now they’re going to go back to those countries because they’re not staying here. There is no price tag.”

 

Details on how the administration plans to execute such an expansive deportation are still unclear. Acting ICE Director Patrick J. Lechleitner previously acknowledged in July that a mass deportation effort would present significant logistical and financial challenges. Former Trump administration officials involved in immigration policy indicated that such an initiative would necessitate cooperation across multiple federal agencies, including the Justice Department and the Pentagon, due to its scale.

 

Despite his hardline stance on immigration, Trump’s message on border security seems to have resonated with various voter demographics. He notably garnered support among Latino voters, despite the Democrats’ attempts to highlight his rhetoric on immigration issues and a pro-Trump comedian's controversial joke about Puerto Rico. Explaining his appeal, Trump said, “They want to have borders, and they like people coming in, but they have to come in with love for the country. They have to come in legally.”

 

Trump also emphasized the wide coalition of voters that backed him, citing increased support among young voters, women, Asian Americans, and Latino voters compared to the 2020 election. “I started to see realignment could happen because the Democrats are not in line with the thinking of the country,” he said. “You can’t have defund the police, these kinds of things. They don’t want to give up and they don’t work, and the people understand that.”

 

Reflecting on his recent phone calls with Vice President Harris and President Joe Biden following the election, Trump spoke about moving forward with a focus on his administration’s key promises, including his immigration policies.

I am assuming the dems will fully cooperate with Trump. They said the border was his fault and his problem if they reintroduce HR 2 I am guessing the dems will be falling over themselves to sign a border bill with true teeth in it.

The simplest way to achieve the objective is to go after businesses that employ illegals. If employers get a large fine for each illegal it would soon stop.

 

Has to be coupled with making it easier for legal entry. The main thing is that legal entry does not become residency. Like Saudi, they come in, work and go home.

Growing up in Calif back in the day the pickers traveled with the crops. Their families stayed in Mexico. The pickers could make double min wage if they were fast. There was no Mexican Stores. When crops were over they returned to their families.

That's the way it should be done.

I was a "guest worker" in Saudi. I stayed legally as long as I had a job. I never had an option to become a resident or bring in my aged parents to get free hospital treatment ( referring to the NHS ). There was absolutely no way I could ever have stayed illegally and worked.

Make very strict rules regarding remittances. Social security or some sort of proof you are here and have permission to send money out of the country. Set the limit very low. Sop the money going out that incentivizes illegals to send it home or worse yet pay the cartels thee owe their passage to.

If you are in a country illegally, you go to the IDC to be processed and then you are deported. Just like normal countries such as Thailand. 

 

No bleeding heart Liberals starting court cases. No questions. You're out. Anyone assisting or employing them gets large fines.

Take their pictures and fingerprints, confiscate all wealth in their possession, inform them that they can never become citizens because they have illegally entered. Send them back to their home countries with a bill for services rendered (to include housing, food, medical, court costs, etc), if the countries don't pay the bill, then institute higher tariffs to pay for the services. No more free ride on the US taxpayers.

Also take DNA samples. If you leave before caught you can leave without prejudice, at your own expense. To clarify if you leave that way you still have biometrics collected.

I agree, give them this one chance to self-deport to save their chance at becoming citizens in the future. We can send out a warning that this will be allowed only for a very short time, that this window (amnesty period) closes if they don't do so quickly. One more issue, is that I want to do away with anchor babies, no more birth-right citizenship. Citizenship should only be extended to babies born to at least one US citizen parent.

Illegal alien sanctuary cities and states will try to frustrate this. If so, there are laws that Trump should be willing to apply to anyone helping illegals remain in the US. For example:

If governors, mayors, or bureaucrats (that's you, Mayorkas) get in the way, arrest them, charge them, try them, and jail them for decades. Trump must be willing to do this. If he's not, then he's not serious and nothing will work.

He has a concept of a plan on how to do this. Nobody is against deporting criminals and orderly deportations at reasonable levels in general. But this mass deportation idea is for the birds. It would devastate key sectors of the economy, grocery and restaurant prices would skyrocket, and it would tear apart millions of citizen families abandoning children  as well.There will be violent resistance. For what? Fascism theater?

The country was flooded with illegal aliens over the past four years. There needs to be an equal force pushing them back to where they came from. Mass deportation will lower housing costs, make streets safer, reduce welfare and educational stress on local towns and cities, force people like the WGA to get on with robotic and mechanical planting and harvesting, reduce the carbon footprint from an already too large population, make sure infrastructure demands on water, electricity, roads, and sewage don't outstrip capacity, and prevent foreign criminal gangs from committing atrocities in cities and small towns. Of course, we could still manage to put a couple of hundred thousand or so in places like Martha's Vineyard; Alexandria, VA; Silver Springs, MD, Arlington, VA, and of course DC itself.

I'm in favor of active programs in migrant source countries. More options  for legal immigration as well. I doubt Trump will actually do that. He's a demagogue.

Maybe not, but NYC Mayor Eric Adams sure put a price tag on the services required to care for each of the city's 110,000 "newcomers".  $36,000 a year per head.

I am just stating something obvious.

 

A mass deportation as promised by Trump will result in a lot of vacant jobs. As the unemployment rate is already low, it will cause wage inflation and price inflation (businesses will increase prices because they have to pay higher wages).

 

That's Trump main problem: his promises are in contradiction with each other. He promised to decrease inflation (which is now already low), but mass deportation, tariffs and tax cuts will increase inflation.
