Police have arrested two Mongolian nationals suspected of targeting tourists in a pickpocketing operation in central Bangkok. The two men, identified as Mr. Sodbayar, 35, and Mr. Uyangabaatar, 40, were apprehended by Thong Lor Police officers in the early hours of November 11.

The arrests came after a female tourist reported her purse stolen on the evening of November 8. The incident took place outside a restaurant on Sukhumvit Soi 33/1, and CCTV footage revealed three suspects involved in the theft. The footage showed a group of three perpetrators who had allegedly been responsible for multiple pickpocketing incidents.

Following a thorough review of the footage, police officers set up a surveillance operation in the area. On November 11, two of the suspects returned to Sukhumvit Road, where they were quickly identified and detained by officers.

Investigations revealed that the two suspects had entered Thailand on tourist visas and were staying in rented rooms in the Phra Khanong and Bang Chak districts. Both admitted to changing accommodations every seven days, a tactic believed to be aimed at avoiding detection while seeking new victims.

The suspects confessed to the latest theft and now face charges of nighttime theft, which carries a sentence of 1 to 7 years in prison and a fine of 20,000 to 140,000 baht. Additionally, they will be required to compensate their victims for stolen property.

A third suspect, also seen in the CCTV footage, remains at large. Police are actively searching for the individual, urging the public to remain vigilant in busy tourist areas.

Tenant can file as "occupier' but needs documentation from the Landlord. You're welcome.

Mitwik:

I guess anybody can do the paperwork

but it is the landlords' responsibility/liability.
