Yeah well. Would you like to take a toke off of a Cigar used by Billy Bob?  He is tarnished so I am saying this is a good way to get rid of him if he can't get confirmed.

and if he gets a recess appointment without senate confirmation? Or an "acting" appointment?

A recess appointment is an appointment.

I think Clinton got about 150 recess appointments.

"The most obvious reason that Matt Gaetz should not, and cannot, become attorney general of the United States is that he is quite likely a statutory rapist," he contended. "And a proudly boastful one at that. This is not an exaggeration. Gaetz was notoriously caught bragging about his dating and having sex with girls to other Republican congressmen back in 2021 — and then showing photos of them to others on the House floor."

As AG

Okay let me spell it out. He is rejected. They have a clean seat, he is confirmed they have a clean seat and an AG. My point is they get a clean up on aisle 5 in the house. If he isn't confirmed Trump will pick somebody else nothing ventured nothing gained. Now i don't really give a rat's ass either way just thinking of possible strategies.

You do realize that there are strategies Trump can employ to appoint him without senate confirmation?

I don't really care about that. My point is that it was pretty handy to be able to end the investigation and clean a seat. Trump could marry and blow him I don't care. I find him dodging the investigation the interesting part not what he does afterwards.

I don't think they like each other:

There's a few senators who don't like Gaetz either. Here's one of them

Pressure is building on the House Ethics Committee to release its findings on former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who President-elect Trump said he will nominate to be attorney general.

“Mr. Gaetz’s likely nomination as Attorney General is a perverse development in a truly dark series of events. She was a high school student and there were witnesses,” Clune said in a post on the social platform X.

President-elect Donald Trump’s choice of Tulsi Gabbard as U.S. intelligence chief has sent shockwaves through the national security establishment, adding to concerns that the sprawling intelligence community will become increasingly politicized.

Trump’s nomination of Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman who lacks deep intelligence experience and is seen as soft on Russia and Syria, is among several high-level picks that suggest he may be prioritizing personal allegiance over competence as he assembles his second-term team.

A Western security source said there could be an initial slowdown in intelligence sharing when Trump takes office in January that could potentially impact the “Five Eyes,” an intelligence alliance comprising the U.S., Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Trump picks his defense lawyers for top Justice Department posts

WASHINGTON, Nov 14 (Reuters) - U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday picked three members of his criminal defense team, including lead attorney Todd Blanche, to serve in senior roles at the Justice Department.

Trump nominated Blanche, who defended him at trial this year in a criminal case over hush money paid to porn star Stormy Daniels, to serve as deputy attorney general, the second-highest position at the Justice Department.

*******

IMHO all three including Emil Bove and John Sauer are highly credible and Blanche would have easy confirmation as full AG if/when Gaetz is out of the picture.

Perhaps this is apocryphal, but I've "heard" that when RFK, Jr takes over as Health and Human Services Secretary, they're going to carve in the marble of the Dept:

"When vaccines are outlawed, only outlaws will be vaccinated".

By the way, neither polio nor smallpox vaccines are good for life. Their efficacy wears off with time, but "immunity" relies on the vast majority of folks being vaccinated and unable to transmit the viruses.  Best to be up to date, especially since al Qaeda has long had plans to weaponize smallpox, and lots of soccer Moms have bought into RFK, Jr's conspiracy theories.

Even some Republicans think Gaetz is a bad choice.  The fact that he resigned to avoid an investigation is telling.  Hopefully, the Senate will reject his nomination.
