President-elect Donald Trump‘s early Cabinet appointments have ranged from the obvious (brilliant House Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) as ambassador to the United Nations) to the inspired (Fox News’s Pete Hegseth as defense secretary) to the aggravating (Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) as homeland security secretary). But the former and future president’s announcement that he is nominating Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) as attorney general is Trump’s first pick that obviously, and intentionally, is dead on arrival.

 

Perhaps Trump just wants Gaetz as the Justice Department’s top dog, but just as likely are the odds that he is intentionally making the Florida firebrand his fall guy. As a sacrificial lamb, Gaetz’s nomination may be very well intended to fail to give the centrist wing of the party cover when political opponents try to accuse them of rubber-stamping all of Trump’s appointments.

I went over to National Review to see how they were handling the Gaetz nomination. As expected, the last redoubt of Bushism is throwing hissy fits. I don't know much about Gaetz, but if NR hates, well, then . . . .

The House Ethics Committee received testimony from someone who claimed to have witnessed former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) engage in sexual misconduct with a high school girl, ABC News reported Friday.

 

This follows a development earlier in the week when the attorney for a woman who claims she and Gaetz had sexual contact when she was 17 — beneath the age of consent in Florida — called on the House Ethics Committee to release its report on the matter, which is expected to contain further damning information.

The lovely women over at The View (Whoopee Goldberg and friends) were forced to read a legal notice expressly stating that Matt Gaetz was cleared of any wrongdoing by the Department of Justice.  Basically they were told, "Read the legal notice or else ABC gets sued - feel free to smirk while reading it - but you are going to read it or else."
So they read it.

If Gaetz is confirmed, expect that there will be hell to be paid for the slander and libels from the Left beginning with the Russia-gate hoax and continuing to the present.  Champions of "Disinformation" my butt. More like facilitators of disinformation.
"Believe all of the hatred we spew about those to our Right.  Everything but what we say is "disinformation.  Everything we say is the God's Satan's honest truth"
