An incident claimed the life of a 58-year-old market vendor in the early hours of the morning of November 22, when her motorcycle collided with a fallen tree blocking the road. The incident occurred around 03:30 on the Wat Kad Road in Moo 1, Na San Subdistrict, Mueang District.

Police from Phra Phrom Station, along with paramedics from Phra Phrom Hospital and Tai Tek Tung Foundation rescue teams, responded to the scene. They found a large tree lying across the road. A black-and-red Honda Wave motorcycle was crushed against the tree, its front section severely damaged.

Near the wreckage was the lifeless body of Ms. Supanee, 58, from Moo 3, Chai Montri Subdistrict, Mueang District. She was found face-down, with significant bruising to her head and body. A helmet and fragments of the motorcycle were scattered across the road.

Initial investigations revealed that Ms. Supanee, a vendor selling fresh corn at the Bua Tong Market in the city, was on her way to the market when the accident occurred. She had left her home early, wearing a raincoat as heavy rain had persisted throughout the night.

The continuous downpour caused flooding in several areas and weakened the soil, resulting in the large tree falling and obstructing the road. With no streetlights due to a power outage, Ms. Supanee was unable to see the fallen tree in the dark and collided with it at high speed. The impact threw her body into the tree, killing her instantly.

After completing the on-site investigation and medical examination, authorities handed over Ms. Supanee’s body to her family.
