NoshowJones Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 I have a Krungthai debit card. Can I use it to withdraw funds when I am in the UK? If I was in the UK for some length of time or even for good what is the best way to do it? I know about Wise and are happy with their services, but they are not a bank.
The Cyclist Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Many years ago the KTB visa debit I had did not work overseas. I had to get a 2nd card that worked overseas. Think it was called a Platinum card or something. If your cirrent card has elephants on the front it should work overseas. If it doesn't have elephants on the front, best to ask at the bank. 1 1
Scouse123 Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 My cards have always worked. I am with KTB. Sometimes if you are using a KTC credit card, they tell you to inform your credit card company that you are going abroad. With debit card, just enter your PIN as you would in Thailand, another good thing is most UK card ATMs charge you nothing for withdrawals. 1
Dogbarker Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 With my bank ( not the one mentioned) I have to ensure international access is set up . There is usually a fee payable .. last time I tried it was baht 200 per transaction ..and I set a higher withdrawal limit to make it more economical . I found cimb in Asia good, no fees at most ASEAN ATM machines from CIMB, worked ok in Europe too .
