And just like that, things are now looking up for Farage.

 

 

But then, yesterday, came a bombshell poll which, for the first time in history, put Nigel Farage’s Reform party ahead of the incumbent Labour Party.

 

Sitting comfortably on 24% —Reform’s highest share of the vote with any pollster since the election—Farage’s party has not only overtaken Labour but is also within the margin of error of overtaking the Tories, who are only 2-points ahead, on 26%.

I was at a party with many falang’s recently.

The falangs  from  socialist countries  didn’t participate im my circle of Starmer discussions!

Winning Another Seat from Labour.

 

Nigel Farage’s Reform Party has gained another council seat from the ruling Labour Party. In a local by-election held in St Helens, Liverpool, on Thursday night, Reform candidate Victor Floyd secured victory in the Blackbrook ward, defeating Labour’s Sally Yeoman.

Almost completely irrelevant to anyone outside of the Blackbrook ward. The next general election is 4 years away. 

 

In any event, the turnout for this council election was 15% which, if it shows anything, is a disenchantment with politics by most of the UK electorate.

I'm puzzled by the relevance of the video to a council by-election result in St. Helens? The video appears to be of a police raid conducted in Bethnel Green, London, which is some 200 miles from St. Helens.

Perhaps the relevance may be that people in St. Helens have voted in hope that someday they needn't fear such police raids in St. Helens.

I doubt very much that fear of a police raid figured highly in the reasons for voting among the 800 or so people who voted in the recent St. Helens council by-election.

 

I also doubt that worrying about a possible police raid is particularly high on the list of 'Things to Fear' for the overwhelming majority of the +/-70m people who live in the UK.

That hardly needs to be the ONLY factor, you see. Perhaps it's one of many. Perhaps they also don't like police raids happening elsewhere. More broadly, they may not like the wide restrictions on free speech throughout the country. The person who associated the video w/ St. Helens seems to have thought so. You may disagree, but who cares? You may argue it was about potholes if you wish.

 

Fact remains that Farage did pick up another council seat. Is it another indicator of momentum? Maybe, maybe not. Will there be many more? We'll need to wait and see.
