Hi

Just a question about entry and visa into Thailand now.

I just spent Feb 24- 2nd Dec 24 in Thailand so about 8 months.

1 Tourist visa with Extension

2 Land Border Crossings with Extension

2023

2 Tourist visa with extensioins so about 6months in Thailand

Iam now looking to try and enter back in Feb'25.  Do i get a Tourist visa even though they have Visa Exempt for 60 days.  Would i be able to enter without issues in the main BKK airports?

UK Citizen and 46 years old.

I'd be inclined to get a multi entry tourist visa if you intend to spend a similar amount of time here next year.  You would probably not have any issue entering exempt but eventually you will be told you need a visa.

You keep asking similar questions.

No one can give a guarantee for visa exempt entry with your history.

You could consider an agent for "fast tract" meet and greet at Bangkok airports.

They assist folks with extensive history in Thailand.

A METV would provide a stay of up to 9 months and is a good option.

That visa is obtained in home country or country where you have permanent residence status

Here is thread discussing agents for "safe entry" at airports.

Given you are only planning 3 month stay you could consider SETV.

Not sure of cost now.

As you have been out of Thailand for some time you could try visa exempt.

SR services is a recommended agent for "safe entry" at airports however thinking not required.

Especially if you opt for visa.

If you are going to use a safe entry service, you can just as well save yourself the time and money to apply for a tourist visa.

Remember Immigration has denied many holders of tourist visas entry to Thailand if they "stay too long" or are deemed to be living in Thailand. As a very rough rule of thumb, have you spent over half the last few months or years in Thailand on VE's and TV's? If so, you may be pulled aside for questioning, warning or even denial of entry.

The point here is holding a tourist visa certainly does not guarantee you entry whilst a safe entry service will. A tourist visa is not in the category of "a proper visa" for long stay according to Immigration.

I am not trying to be difficult or argumentative here, but there is a myth that if you hold a tourist visa, you will not be denied entry. This is absolutely not the case. So I am trying to dispel the myth.

That was my point. If you use a safe entry service for guaranteed hassle-free entry, why get a tourist visa on top of that? It doesn't offer any additional benefit.

Right, I am with it now.

Multi-clause sentences can cause ambiguity. 🤪 (to me)

Correct.

Think SR services was mentioned earlier.

That will guarantee entry even with solid history.

I don't regard it as cheap however its safe.
