Hi

When I flee out of bkk to work I noticed the auto imm desks now open but I went to the usual desks as wasn't sure if I could use the auto desks as I got stamped into Thailand and presumed I also needed to get stamped out but have heard from a friend that you can get stamped in but can use the auto gates on way out as don't require an exit stamp

Is this correct ?

I have questions about these gates which don't provide the stamp.

It is important to me that I can track my own travel history (easy to do) and can prove it in the future with similar ease yet solid proof to back up my entry and exit dates to / from Thailand to establish that I am NOT tax resident in any given year.

Do these automatic gates provide any proof of departure at all?

Not for your use.

The idea is to speed up the immigration and I, for one, applaud the progress. It made a huge difference the last time I exited Bangkok. If I want to track my travel I can do it without the need for stamps in my passport. Same is true for Thais, traveling to the UK, they are not stamped out but their travel record can be obtained from airline records - these details are equired for subsequent UK visa applications.
