Trench Collapse Traps Worker at Construction Site in Sri Racha
Picture from responders. A construction worker has been seriously injured after being trapped by a trench collapse at Sri Racha-Nong Kho Road, Nong Kham Subdistrict, Sri Racha District, Chonburi. The incident took place near Wat Nong Kho, where a large section of earth slid down, burying the man from the waist down. His chest was also struck by a metal pipe during the collapse. Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after the collapse occurred. A rescue team from the Phuea Yieng Thai organisation arrived to assist the victim, who was identified as a 44-year-old male. His colleagues at the site had already begun digging to free him before the rescuers arrived. Despite the efforts to lift the earth, the man was reported to be experiencing severe chest tightness, prompting his immediate treatment by medics. After administering initial first aid to stabilise the worker, he was eventually dug out by hand, taking about 30 minutes and transported to Phyathai Sriracha Hospital, for further medical attention. His condition was described as stable. Local authorities, including the Nong Kham Police Station, have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the trench collapse, and it is initially believed that the collapse may have been caused by unstable soil in the area and lack of adequate shoring of the trench sides, to cope with this type of soil conditions. -- 2025-01-11 -

Going to Thailand for Surgery
Just don't go putting them in less than sanitary places ( nudge nudge ) and you should be fine with that time. I hope you didn't go for the cheap end surgery, if you want a good result. In LOS you get what you pay for. Have good travel insurance in case of unexpected complications. No surgery is 100% guaranteed to not have complications, which is why you have to sign a release before the operation. -

Lorry Driver Dies in Crash on Asian Highway in Chainat
Picture from responders. A crash claimed the life of a 51-year-old lorry driver when his vehicle collided with the rear of a stationary trailer truck on the Asian Highway in Chainat Province during the early hours of 10 January. The crash occurred between kilometre markers 131-132 on the northbound side of Highway 32, in Suea Hok Subdistrict, Mueang District. Police from Mueang Chainat Police Station, rescue teams from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation, and medical staff from Chainat Narenthorn Hospital responded to the incident. At the scene, authorities discovered the lifeless body of the driver, identified as Mr. Wanchai, a resident of Chachoengsao Province. He was found trapped in the driver’s seat of his 10-wheel lorry, which had been crushed against the rear of the trailer truck. The trailer, which was not carrying any cargo, had been parked on the roadside due to a mechanical issue. Rescue teams used hydraulic cutting tools to extricate Mr. Wanchai’s body but struggled for over 25 minutes as the two vehicles were tightly wedged together. A second truck was eventually used to pull the vehicles apart, allowing the recovery of the deceased. A preliminary medical examination revealed severe injuries, including shattered legs, with the left leg nearly severed, and multiple wounds caused by the impact. The trailer truck’s driver, Mr. Phongsakorn, recounted that his vehicle had broken down, prompting him to park by the roadside while waiting for a mechanic. He said he was resting in the cab when the collision violently shook his truck and sent it skidding over 10 metres. Upon exiting the vehicle, he discovered the 10-wheel lorry had crashed into the rear of his trailer and immediately contacted the authorities. Police have detained Mr. Phongsakorn for further questioning to determine whether the trailer was parked safely with adequate warning signals, or if negligence contributed to the fatal collision. Investigators are reviewing the evidence to decide on appropriate charges. -- 2025-01-11 -
