Started a keto diet 1 year ago. Cut out all carbohydrates including bread, rice, pasta. Lost 25 lbs in 3 weeks. Blood pressure dropped from 160/120 to 115/85. I'm the best shape of my life!

Low GI seeded bread from big c extra (Pattaya) is the only way to go. And get them to cut it into the thick sliced.

Got more bread than I can use up in a lifetime and it's all green!

Bake my own and fill will black sesame seeds, pumpkin kernels and sunflower kernels all of which are anti inflammatory.

Well done. Have you checked your lipid profile since going on this diet?

I did Keto once. My LDL went from 100 up to 212 in about six weeks. Very dangerous. That was the end of that high-fat diet experiment.

Also, the reason that you possibly lost weight was not because of your dietary changes necessarily, but the fact that your caloric intake decreased to a considerable deficit when you cut out all the carbs. That means that you probably could've continued eating carbohydrates, just less of them to reduce your calorie intake and you would've lost the weight just the same and then blood pressure would've fallen also from the weight loss just the same.

Also, you might want to check your thyroid hormones to make sure that that's all working correctly too: TSH, FT3, FT4.

White bread contains emulsifiers such as vegetable oils, preservatives such as calcium propionate and potassium sorbate, and enzymes like amylase and protease.

It does contain Vitamin C, which may or may not break down to furfural and furoic acid during baking.

Smart rabbits.

Rye bread. White wheat bread and also whole wheat bread are not really very nutritious and filling.

I have joined the sourdough bread bandwagon.

Home made wheat with powdered garlic, onion, + oregano....No preservatives or chemicals.....

We'll also pick up a loaf of sourdough once in awhile.....

Not if you make your own, breadmaker machine or by hand.

Do you have a good recipe that I can try?

I use a stand mixer for the hard work.

There are SO MANY recipes on You Tube, for kneading by hand, breadmakers, and, for me the easiest, is Ciabotta where you simply stretch and fold the dough 4 times in 2 hours.

White bread is totally fine, my fav is Continental English cut white loaf 58 baht, other "healthier" bread can be harder to digest

another one falls for the LDL cholesterol hoax

There is a great bakery in Pattaya, they advertise "no sugar/no preservatives", two shops that I know are Pratumnak 5 and the corner of Theppasit .

They advertise fresh daily, but I am not sure, the soi 5 one takes the dates off

Terrible picture sorry, but you get the idea

If no rice or pasta what am I eating with my steak?

food pyramid still shows 3-5 servings of wholemeal, cereals and bread, pasta, potatoes and rice. Fad diets are unhealthy.

LDL is a hoax if it goes a bit over 130, say as high as maybe 160. But when it gets above 200, it's no longer a hoax and it can start causing damage and inflammation to arteries.

Skip the carbs, and  have 3 or 4 large glasses of red wine.

The red vino with a big bowl of pasta, or a big cheese butty is fine. Or a plate of chips with salt and Sarsons vinegar.......Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I make my own bread (French style or Ciabotta), red vino, chips, and will try making cheese in the New Year.

Brown bread!

Neither ... Rye bread w/whole wheat flour 😎

If you must have bread.  I still eat, homemade, and very sparingly.  1 loaf over 2 weeks (freezer) instead of 3 days :cheesy:

Used to get loaves from the day before, at the corner theppasit road shop.

Think it was 25 baht a loaf, excellent for toast.
