An incident occurred in Ayutthaya’s Bang Pa-in district when a 13-year-old boy tragically drowned while swimming with friends in a public pond.

The Ayutthaya Ruamjai Rescue Association responded on December 21, to the report of a missing youth at a pond in Moo 5, Sam Ruean Subdistrict, Bang Pa-in District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

According to initial witness accounts from the boy’s friends, a group of five youths were swimming together when the tragedy unfolded. While exiting the water, one of the friends noticed the victim disappearing beneath the surface. Unable to rescue him in time, they rushed to inform the boy’s family.

The family attempted to search for the boy for approximately 20 minutes but could not locate him. They then called for assistance from the Ayutthaya Ruamjai Rescue Association, who dispatched divers to the scene.

After about 20 minutes of searching, divers recovered the boy’s body near the location his friends had indicated. The victim, identified as Jay, was 13 years old and a resident of Moo 5, Sam Ruean Subdistrict, Bang Pa-in District.

The body was brought ashore to a pavilion by the pond. The incident is under the jurisdiction of Bang Pa-in Police Station (Santhiwa Subdivision).
