which overcomes gravity or density?

helium balloons don't have wings.

If a bird stops flapping its wings, apart from soaring, it will fall to the ground. If the balloon bursts, it too will fall to the ground. This principal is the same, however, the mode of 'flight' is different. This moves us away from the principal reason and the original post....is the Earth flat...?

Discussion of gravity is relevant because gravity is what caused all the planets to be "round".  The foolish flat earthers need to also deny the "theory" of gravity to quash that "round" rumor.

It's definitely NOT that you are a horses az

who can't control his pettiness.

I think that photos/videos taken from space vehicles do prove the Earth is a globe.

The Bible or Koran etc  DO NOT prove the existence of God. But if there is one, why did He! make all other planets, stars etc globular?

Your answer shows you know not much about this matter.

A good video is this. Not sure if it was earlier shared on AN. Specially the Jesuits part in all this is important. Especially 'learning against learning'. That's why the Jesuits are into so called education.

It's great to know we have someone on this thread smarter than Newton. Just saying "I don’t give much credence to Newton’s theory of gravity" is an absolutely worthless comment without a supporting argument. Lakes are not interconnected as oceans are. It is the interconnectivity of oceans that allow tidal movement. As for birds and for that matter anything else that flies this is done due to lift. Gravity is a very weak force.

There are seven lines of supporting argument after the quoted sentence.

1h42 is very little considering the wealth of information presented.

I do not need any information like this. I KNOW the Earth, and most other Planets and stars are spherical to a great extent.

I'm sure we can argue about this to the dawn of the dusk and find proof for both, and to bee true, I do not know, since I haven't literally figured it out myself.

The oblate spheroid, or oblate ellipsoid, is an ellipsoid of revolution obtained by rotating an ellipse about its shorter axis. It is the regular geometric shape that most nearly approximates the shape of the Earth. A spheroid describing the figure of the Earth or other celestial body is called a reference ellipsoid

Is the Earth round? - NOAA's National Ocean Service

16. juni 2567 BE — The Earth is an irregularly shaped ellipsoid. This NASA image shows Earth from space. The image is a combination of data from two satellites

We can agree on your one point that "do not know".  There is nothing to argue about. The science has concluded everything since before you were born. An ellipsoid is a necessary approximate shape used to derive mathematical computations on the earth surface as used in map projections, and any of several ellipsoids can be used for that approximation. The actual earth shape is that of an irregular shaped ellipsoid with no mathematical formula possible, it is just a three dimension point position model that has been revised over time as more data is collected. That model is called the geoid.

The Jesuits, a religious order within the Catholic Church, do not teach that the Earth is flat. Like the broader scientific community and the Catholic Church, the Jesuits accept the well-established scientific understanding that the Earth is an oblate spheroid. This view is consistent with centuries of scientific observation and evidence.

Ouch, misunderstanding there… That's what happens when one "knows" without knowing.

I cringed at the topic "as a former NASA Astrometrist" but if you look up... in the Northern Hemisphere, we have Polaris (the North Star) relatively stationary in the sky. Just use your phone with one of those sky apps. Now, get on a plane and go to Australia...  Polaris drops below the horizon and isn’t visible at all.

Meanwhile, now that you are in Australia, you can see the Southern Cross (Crux). No amount of weird “perspective” or “light bending” on a supposedly flat plane can explain why completely different stars are visible as you change hemispheres.

For the average Joe, Earth should be considered a perfect sphere:

Equatorial Diameter: About 12,756 km

Polar Diameter (North to South Pole): About 12,714 km

That’s a difference of roughly 42 km. It may not sound like a lot on a planetary scale, but it’s enough to show up in measurements and in Earth’s rotation characteristics. But that's only for scientist. For most people 42 km in nothing compared to almost 13,000. The more you know...

Do you accept that Earth is spherical -or- do you believe it is flat

How about bipyramid - north pole at top, south pole at bottom?

But that's not a problem for them at all. They just deny anything and everything that is accepted scientific consensus and accept every BS thing that fits their warped narrative. 🤮

Round, like beautiful blue ball. Look at the NASA photos from the Moon or ISS.
