Report Phuket Grocery Store Exposed as Front for Meth Dealing
Picture courtesy of The Phuket News A seemingly ordinary grocery shop in Phuket's quiet Baan Phru Samphan neighbourhood has been unveiled as a front for drug dealing, following a successful sting operation by local authorities. On the evening of July 2, Phuket Provincial Defence Officer Akkara Suwatthikul, supported by a Volunteer Defence Corps team, raided the shop. The operation was initiated after locals alleged the store owner, already on bail for a prior drug offence, was openly selling methamphetamine pills, or yaba. An undercover officer confirmed the illicit activity, leading to the raid. Officials arrested a male suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, and confiscated 282 yaba pills, including 25 secured during the sting, along with 560 baht in cash. The suspect faces charges of distributing and possessing methamphetamine, a Category 1 narcotic, without permission. He is currently at Thalang Police Station, facing severe legal repercussions. Authorities have emphasised that this arrest marks the start of broader efforts to dismantle local drug networks. “Further investigations are underway,” a spokesperson stated, reinforcing the zero-tolerance stance towards illegal drug activities. The revelation has shocked residents who had been anxious about the shop's shady dealings. One local shared, “We were living in fear with people coming and going at all hours. It’s a relief to see action being taken.” Police are urging anyone with additional information on drug trafficking in the area to come forward as they intensify efforts to disrupt the supply chain. What do locals think of foreigners living in rural parts of Thailand on very modest budgets?
The OP is no Einstein that's for sure. Starts a fake topic then gets slammed. Joke is on him but he is too dumb to realise it. -

His big beautiful bill
I do not think the government should be in the student loan business. Let the universities carry their own paper, and there will be fewer students, and the price will come down. And middle class families would not have to come up with “hundreds of thousands of dollars”. Per your post, they would only have to come up with $70k. Already too many people getting useless degrees on the public teat. -

Thailand wants an unstable Myanmar
Sure but they have to pay legal migrants minimum wage along with adhering to other regulations. Illegal hires are cheaper and can't complain. Maybe they're "unwanted" by the government to save face but business owners profit big time, especially in agriculture and food processing jobs. You're correct, there is a labor shortage in Thailand. Legal or not, the perfect way to fill in this gap is with desperate people fleeing danger. -

UK Palestine Action Echo Glastonbury Chant ‘death to the IDF’
IDF do not need napalm. very little tree cover to remove and their targets have nowhere to run to How many people have the IDF killed in Gaza? A lot more than 2 times as many as were killed in the London Blitz. And the Gaza people have no defence against air attack. Makes genocide easier. Younger people were shocked by the Hamas attack, but they have become appalled at the IDFs two and a half years blood fest in response, To say nothing about deliberate starvation, bombing hospitals and schools, torture and executions. Death to the IDF is quite an understandable chant when nothing is being done to stop this murder.
