Best mr Jack

I hope you can help me further
I have/apply only for a SINLGE entree NON-O Visa
You mentioned (as i am now in Thailand) that i can NOT apply E-Visa here in Thailand
Can i use a VPN?
Are there now financial requirmnets
If i apply online (in other country or use VPN) must i do that 2 week before?
Its very difficult for me to understand..sorry about that

If i not meet financaial requirements...is there another option like
Tourist Exempt Visa (which i fall in those countries)
But then i have to go also to another country?

Can i extend examplre a Exempt (visa) with 60 days based on visit my wife?
Thank you helping me
Sorry about my non knowledge of undertanding

Just a suggestion...

You can obtain a 60 day extension to visit wife prior to your current permission of stay expiry.

At some point you can do border bounce without reentry permit and obtain a visa exempt entry stamp.

BTW that 60 can be extended by 60 days "to visit wife" as its a new entry.

These extensions to visit wife would be to buy time to organize financials.

From the visa exempt entry you can obtain a Non O marriage at local immigration office. Requires 400k in bank on day of application.

That will provide a 90 day stamp.

30 days prior to expiry and having the 400k in bank for 2 months you obtain a 12 month extension.

After extension is granted you can use the 400k

I see very little purpose in guys obtaining non O at nearby consulates/embassies.

Unless of course ME Non O is still available.

Even then the financial requirements may make it redundant

The e-visa system should not be confusing, but for you is very inconvenient for sure.

Yes you have  to apply in the country you are applying.  VPN won't help.

Yes, for a single entry non-O you will need 400k (or equal) in the bank, not necessarily a Thai bank.

They say the processing time is 10-15 days (Laos), if this is actually true nobody knows yet (anywhere else it is not).

If you have 400k then an in country extension of your current non-O would be the best.  But you need the money.

Long story short, it doesn't look like a good option.

Has Zero appeal.

The OP could consider places such as Vietnam that have had eVisa in place.

This is for others eg OP.

Skip plan for Non O eVisa in Laos.

Outlined earlier

In fact moving forward obtain non O in Thailand. Better option..

Thank you so far everybody
Sorry about my non knowledge of understanding

If i not meet the requirements for obtaining my visa in Thailand (400K)
then i have no choice to do a borderun to Cambodia where i can get a Visa Exempt
If i am informed well i get 60 days and i can get a extension of 60 day (visit wife)
So instead of a Non-O i get a Tourist visa
I will loose 1 month
I also need to stay 3 night in Cambodia according to Borderun agency
Costs 4000 baht incl Visa Cambodia
Then i have 4 month time to get the finance for obtaining again a Non -O
Hope i am correct about this

what on earth is an e-visa (for Thailand) is it replacing the non o retirement extension?

No, not replacing extensions.  Evisa is used if you apply for a new visa outside of Thailand.

Normally I cut one or two sentences.

Your posts are over the shop.

Clearly state you status in Thailand along with financial situation.

Where is your location in Thailand?

Also age.

Which immigration office?

Edit: just answered your PM.

Your location is important for border bounce recommendations

Unless that's a very recent development (which wouldn't completely surprise me, considering what has been reported from border crossings with Laos lately), same-day border runs to Cambodia should be possible when using a border run service, so it might be worth checking with a few other agencies.

What's your passport country and where in Thailand would you like to start the border bounce from?

State "live in Bangkok"

A border run to Cambodia using minivan company is an option if you run out of time.

As mentioned earlier 60 day extension to visit wife is available.

Ongoing you need to obtain  Non O and subsequent annual extensions.

The financial requirements are either 400k in bank ONLY for two months OR

monthly income of 40k per month.

Dutch folk can obtain "income letter" from Dutch embassy in Bangkok?

I notice you had very similar issue back in May and started this thread.

To live ongoing in Thailand you need to be on annual extensions rather that a non O plus 60 day extension or visa exempt plus 60 day extension.

Since your embassy provides income letter for immigration don't understand why you are in this situation.

You state in both threads that the financial requirements is the issue. ?

Seems more like poor planning.

Removing my original advise, as I now realize his entry is for marriage, so cannot do 1st 12-mo extension based on "retirement" - my bad.

Looking into this, the wording reads as it won't be processed until paid which requires cash and it's 10-15 Working Days (Not Days).

More importantly it needs to be paid at Savannakhet consulate at this stage in person.

The time for processing is not clear.

Also the OP (absent) stated...

"I not have the financial requirements (400K)"

Don't really follow the strategy.

With no funds for 12 month extension he would be best off obtaining visa exempt entry 60 + 60 day extension to visit wife and sort out finances.

Never understand issue with financial requirements for extensions based on marriage.

Such a basic requirement especially compared to retirement.

Sorry about my non knowledge of undertanding

When it comes to financial requirements in Savanna khet, I had to show copy of bank book from Thailand. I do not know if that is the same now. This was one year ago. Now I have got the non-o in Thailand and will extend it to one year after 3 months. I will not waste more time going in and out of Thailand every year.

Obtaining visa at Laos consulates has ended..

It's all eVisa now and you need to apply while in Laos..

The process time uncertain.

No need to apologise. Many people are confused by the new regulations and requirements.

As DrJack54  says :

I would skip idea of obtaining non O in Laos.

An alternative is to apply for 12 month extension from your current permission of stay.

The days of easy and quick visa runs to Laos are over. It has no advantage over anywhere else.

I am not yet up to this point, but my understanding from talking with immigration officers, is that if you already have a  non O visa, you go to your immigration office and simply renew it there. If you are living in a place with few foreigners, the immigration office will probably be very quiet, no queue, no over loaded officers, very relaxed atmosphere.

You don't "renew" your non-O, you extend your permission to stay.  But to do so you must meet the financial requirement.  The OP doesn't, hence the issue he has.

Read post above this one.

What do you currently have. A Non O marriage that gave you a 90 day stamp?

As mentioned above, the visa is not renewed.

Assuming you have a Non O marriage you need to prepare for obtaining a 12 month extension.

(It's not a visa).

The extension process has requirements.
