What's behind the rapid rise of Members-Only option on YouTube?

Recently, I believe that we have all been surprised by the rapid rise of the MEMBERS-ONLY option coming our way on YouTube.

 

This members option is not offered only buy the low-quality YT sites.

 

Here is an example:

 

 

Is this rise just innocent horseplay on YT?

 

Or, is there something much more nefarious going on, behind the scenes.

 

I will never become a member of any group that would have me as a member, with the possible exception of TV, or course.

 

What is your thinking on this new phenomenon?

I Am not seeing the members only thing, and no iam not a member and this is on an account that is not youtube premium.

Some claim to provide special content for members.  Many request payment for this option.  I personally would never give a dime to so many of these idiots walking around Thailand exploiting Thai people especially females.  Disgusting they should be banned.

So this is why I suggested that something nefarious might be going on here...

 

Perhaps, for example, the machines behind YT have already taken over, and no further human intervention is permitted....

And, the AI machines are now just toying with human viewers, frustrating and antagonizing them....whenever, and at the drop of the hat.

I've seen a few of those site.  No doubt, it's just people trying to make money.  "Join our members section and get special content."

Youtube have been underpaying content creators for years. 

 

A members only section for payment is a way they can actually get paid for making their content. 

 

There's nothing wrong with paying a little for content that is helpful, or of interest to you.  It supports the content creator.

You are the one who mentioned the UN.

 

I do not like the fact that the UN gets some of my tax money.  They do nothing except press conferences say how they "condemn this and condemn that" without ever taking any action. 

 

Getting back on topic, perhaps a youtuber could make a video clip on the UN's failure as an organization.
