So Vietnamese people, who might not have spoken English, came up to you and told you they didn't like Americans? Just how many did this?

2-300

Here's a news flash - Australia has all of that too, and we don't have to train our kids how to avoid getting shot in school.

I never had to train my kids about that, and they never experienced any of it, nor did millions of other children. Australia seems to be pretty nice in some ways, and I would love to visit Cairns to catch a Marlin but more people die there from snake, shark, crocodile and spider bites than most other countries. They also don't have the quality of fresh water fishing and hunting the US has.

Australian, living in Thailand for 14 years now. Life is good.

I speak reasonably good Thai, which makes life a lot easier.

Like you, I reside in Thailand.

Until I moved here - and joined this forum - I had no idea how much Brits and (especially) Australians hate Americans.

I don't know that its they hate Americans but they seem to feel they are better and always correct in their thinking even when its about what goes on in America which they have no real clue other than whats on the "limited" news here

Well I know this is an Expat forum but most poster don't actually live in Thailand, I do not anymore, I moved back to OZ a few years back as everybody knows. so where you come from?  most posters seem American  posters posting like or dislike Trump but there is more countries in the world so the question is why posting about American problems in every second post?

Because Yanks are on the whole so boring with a superior complex when they have absolutely nothing to feel superior about.

Well, I think it is preferable that they are killing each other rather than traveling the world killing others.

They don’t get it. Fred seems genuinely surprised that the Vietnamese might be pissed off that the Americans burnt down their villages and killed their grandparents.

It does seem like there are a lot of overseas guys that like to post in regard to Thailand, but I think the vast majority of us actually live here and enjoy life here on a daily basis and are incredibly thankful that we're not back in our native countries.

How many Yanks do you actually know personally that act this way? If I went by what some others say here, I would think all Brits are overweight drunks who talk funny, all Middle easterners are terrorists, all Blacks have huge willies, all Aussies are serial killers looking for tourists, all Hispanics are dumb and are trying to jump over Trump's wall, all French are snobs, all Asians look at women as inferior, and all Hawaiians are huge and sing pop songs.

What were their names? Was it 200 or 300? What exactly did they say?

Phuc Dat Bich, he owns the popular restaurant Pho King Good with his nephew Phat Phuc

What we lack in fresh water fishing we more than compensate for in salt water.

Plenty of hunting for water buffalo, feral pigs, deer, foxes, cats, and wild dogs. Rabbits in the colder areas, where calcivirus did not take hold. Even wild camels.

Of the 12 most venomous species on the planet, Australia has 11 of them.

Just come out of Big C where the American customer infront of me was complaining to the girl on the till that the writing on his purchase was too small.

Freedom does have a price, and since the US is all countries in one place, it's something America does. Helping other countries.

Helping other countries is one side only.

Nothing is done purely for just helping other countries, it is in the interests of Usa, that's why!

Many children have died unnecessary because of the price that have to be paid. True or not, we are more wiling to look at it with our own pink glasses when it suit us.

As the children of Laos and Cambodia, and not to forget Vietnam. Sevaral countries being used in wars for what?

One reason I would love to visit but not live. The same goes for here. One reason I will take my daughter from here is the amount of venomous snakes that live here. I only hunt deer species, so that leaves out the rest there besides pigs which are a bane everywhere. Shoot a camel?  lol

Ah yes, the Americans don’t do it for their own greed, they do it to help other countries.
Thanks America

Possible he wasn't American? That's one example only.

I've only seen 2 snakes in Thailand in 14 years here, and both ended up in a village cooking pot.

I see them every week here, and I'm not swift at recognizing the venomous ones here, as there are so many. Some of the deadliest aren't big and easy to spot like Cobras and Kraits.

Something you can not do with the people of Issan.

I guess you might gain some insight from airport lounges, bars, cafes and restaurants as to why Americans seem to have such a strong voice on here.

How do you know they love you? Do you talk to them like you do to others here? You can talk to people in Isaan if you can talk to them in the beach areas. Most come from Isaan anyway.

You certainly haven't refuted what I asserted. The cheaper places aren't desirable places to live.

You surely jest...or else you've most certainly taken leave of your senses. Yes, I've been to the USA on multiple occasions. The food, in general, was crap. Supermarket food, was crap. marketing over substance. Quantity over quality. To get close to European standards you had to go to Wholefoods. Where did GMO originate? The good ole USA...with Monsanto pushing their crap worldwide.

Yeah...so join the queue with everyone else here. You aren't special because you were born in the USA. Quit the hyperbole, as it just makes you look ridiculous.
