Hi there. My 60-day visa exemption pass runs out on Jan 16 and I'm hoping to extend it by another 30 days in Chiang Mai as I'm planning to stay until 13 Feb. May I know what are the documents that I need to bring? I was thinking of doing a border bounce at Chiang Saen and making a trip of it but not too keen now if I have to stay over in Laos.

Thank you.

For the 30-day extension;
Completed TM7
Passport.
Copy of TM30 receipt

Copy of passport data page

Copy of entry stamp

Passport photo 4x6cm

Fee 1,900 BHT

Someone first hand experience at CM may add something.

Be aware that border bounces seem to requiring stay of 1-2 nights.

Even recently the case at Nong Khai.

Go to immigration asap in case they want something "extra". Unlikely.

DrJack above is spot on with regards documents needed at CM.

To emphasise, you will not get in the front door without your TM30. You will get a couple of extra forms to sign saying you understand the consequences of overstay etc.

Normally an extension at Central Festival is less hassle than immi near the airport

Thank you. Is one passport photo enough and one copy of everything else?

Yes. The pp photo is attached to the TM7.

The io will staple it to form for you.

Obviously always take extras of everything.

Cen fest IO doesn’t do extensions, though an agent may be able to do it there.
