These punks got no decency.

Could've been marijuana?

Deport immediately and 1 year ban.

Thailand does not need these kind of idiotes.

So true, the law is the law.

Thailand seems to attract more than the average share of idiots. Hope the detention took as long as the police could legally stretch it.

Picture and video from Facebook.

Three rowdy tourists were escorted off a Nok Air flight after being caught vaping mid-air, shocking fellow passengers on board. The incident occurred on January 5 on flight DD-532, travelling from Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok to Phuket International Airport.

Footage captured by a passenger shows one of the men casually vaping and using his phone during the flight. Another reportedly hid in the aircraft’s toilet to vape, ignoring strict aviation safety regulations.

The obnoxious behaviour did not go unnoticed, as other passengers alerted cabin crew when the cabin began filling with a sickly-sweet odour. One witness, Neeranoot Meuankid, said: “I noticed them being noisy at the gate and saw them vaping in the boarding queue. During the flight, the smell became overwhelming, even through my mask, and I started feeling dizzy.”

Neeranoot also noted that one of the men disregarded the safety demonstration and refused to wear his seatbelt during take-off. She filmed the incident as evidence and handed it over to flight attendants, who tackled the situation.

Upon landing in Phuket, the three tourists were detained by police and escorted off the aircraft. They were held for investigation at the airport police station. No details on the nationalities, identities or any possible charges has been released by authorities.

Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited on all domestic and international flights. Vaping has also been banned in Thailand since 2014, although such products are still widely available for purchase.

Neeranoot added: “It’s 2025, everyone must know you can’t smoke on planes. Their behaviour was reckless and disrespectful to the safety and comfort of others.”

It is clear that vaping is forbidden just a smoking, but detaining someone for it???? Better put him on a blacklist that he can't fly for a few years...

They are arrogant and pricks...and should be on a no fly list.

I have no issue following the rules. I also agree with them.

I do take issue with their covertly taking a video, posting it to social media, and seizing the opportunity to make it about them by taking it to the press.

What is wrong with reporting it to the cabin crew and leaving it at that?

wow, i don't like you much either, pedant,

This says more about you than about tthe other person.

If our secirity guard smokes a cigarette in our open parking garage, I can smell the poisonous smoke from 15 meters away.

Simply stupid to not wear the safety belt during start and landing.

Also not very social to put a knee against the seat in front of you, but I guess you wont  have a problem with that too.

perhaps its time to catch him on video and post his crimes to social media showing everyone what fine, stand-upping, and virtuous soul you are.

just think of the likes and recognition you will receive.

Did you read all the details? It was more than just vaping.

right you are there was the whole no seatbelt thing too.

I don't know about you, but being put on the no-fly list would be disastrous for me, it would spell the end  of life as know it.

far more effective or resource efficient than jail time or fines

It is obvious, somehow they thought same laws apply to them as to Thaksin and they were untouchables.
sorry, boys, should have checked the small print .. this is the land of law and order…

you have multiple jurisdiction violations with it being on an aircraft. They may well be fined and blacklisted from NOK but I suspect a fine and Wai and a promise and its over with.

Losers yes but, "Disregarded" the safety demonstration.

They are not sitting in an exit row where you are legally obligated to acknowledge your duty. So this can only mean they did not look at it.

It appears from the story this was also filmed lol.

Get a life aptly named "Muean kid".

In the US it’s a federal offense, smoke on a plane and become a certified felon.

In the states would one get prison time for that or just a warning?

Nope I have seen 10,000 baht fines just for having a vape,

At the end of the day, I would assume a higher CASH fine was the penalty, and then they were on their merry way, no punishment like a 10 year ban on entering Thailand again.

If I had to guess a nationality, I would say it starts with R, you can guess the rest.
