I'm a Brit, I've directly linked both of my Kbank accounts to my True Wallet (see image below).

Thanks for that, they must have changed their rules.

EDIT:  Just tried and Kasikorn linking works, thanks.   BBL, SCB and KTB options all produce the "Cannot connect to bank account. Connecting bank accounts is available for Thai citizens only" message.

Interesting that Kasikorn is the only mainstream bank that does not require (or even provide for) facial recognition for foreigners accounts.

As a foreigner the only way to top it up is to go to a 7/11 with cash and do it there.

Wrong, you can top up at True machine as well.

There seems to be something going on about using foreign CC cards for purchases in Thailand. I used to be able to pay for YouTube Prime with my US CC, but now they will only accept a CC issued in Thailand. I was also thinking of getting the True wallet until I saw that they will not accept top-ups with foreign CC cards.

This ruling came in at around the same time as we saw the enhanced anti money laundering laws being implemented. It is probably to prevent a Truemoney account, which is relatively easy to open, being used as a mule account.

You can also spend True money at the Central food park in Chiang Mai airport, I would imagine all Central plaza food parks the same, handy saves getting a top up card!

You can link KB account to the KB app.

You also can get a KB debit card linked to KB account.

I haven't noticed this issue - but perhaps (as I do in any event) use a phone provider such as AIS, and just add Prime (or any other streaming service) onto your package.  The monthly (discounted) cost is applied to your usual monthly phone bill.  They have Prime for a ridiculously low annual price at the moment (990 Baht from. memory - but don't quote me) ....  🙂

Many major stores accept TrueMoney (I love the efficiency of it).  Lotus/ Makro/ HomePro/ GlobalHouse/ Watsons etc etc all take TrueMoney.  The only potential issue with it is that, in order to take advantahge of the linked 7-Eleven sales that you can obtain by purchasing with your TrueMoney account - you need to have the 7-Eleven App on the same phone/linked.  If you have a foreign-bought phone - you may not be able to install the (Thai) 7-Eleven App.  Solution is to get a Thai-bought mobile.
