KIWI no good

Featured Replies

I booked MNL to BKK on KIWI,com site.

At airport in Manila I was told by Cebu Pacific "KIWI didn't pay any luggage". I had paid for 20kg to KIWI.

I only had 2h to clear up everything so I paid 66 USD extra in cash. Luckily Cebu Pacific girls took the money and said "We'll take care of extra fee". They didn't need to do so. They were understanding and nice! They showed me KIWI payment to them on big screen on the counter. There were no paid luggage fee.

I filed complain to KIWI which was 5 pages of BS run-around nonsense. They tried to avoid refund any way possible but I got time and send copies to press etc.

My old pal is Peter S Geenberg - one of most well known travel writer not only in the US but the whole world.

That usually helps... so did now too. Only thing these clowns fear is bad press. 3 weeks later I only got 46 USD refund. Better than nothing.

KIWI has been in news a few times during years for crooked dealings but I hoped they've learned lesson when EU has hit them hard with fines etc.

Not so. They are NOT New Zealand company but Czech.

"Kiwi.com is a Czech online travel agency founded by Oliver Dlouhý and Jozef Képesi in 2012."

Here's more "advertising" how they operate;

"Feb 14 (Reuters) - American Airlines (AAL.

has settled a lawsuit accusing web platform Kiwi of being a “rogue online travel agent” that used deceptive practices to sell tickets without American’s consent.
American said in a filing"
