The Troubling Decline of DEI: A Step Backward for America
I'd employ the best candidate that would work for the lowest wage, and take the least time off. Essentially straight culturally Christian males. Your approach is indeed that of an ardent capitalist (ME!). DEI is asking you to also consider the community (WE!). In its extremes, that is the difference between capitalism and socialism. In the USA, we have a mix of these. DEI is a reminder that we do have that mix, and it should be considered in your actions. -

Thailand as a Future Destination for Relocation
45 for me, and if doing over, would probably just stay in the USA. Instead of liquidating RE holdings, buy more, and income would offset higher cost of living & inflation. Live the same lifestyle, probably have more money, as doubtful I would have married again, 2X at that, or raised a kid, 20+ years, through Uni. -

Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
Just my two cents worth, but I think the Thai govt is pushing this issue hoping farangs will get a TIN, file taxes, and pay voluntarily, which some will do. What I've learned from many many years in Thailand is Thai people want things easy not complicated. Seems to me this is a very complicated issue that will take a LOT of research, time, and effort on the government's part; just one example being trying to figure out charges on a credit card made in Thailand! Personally I'm going to wait until if/when it's linked to me getting a visa then reevaluate the situation if that happens. As one poster mentioned, Thailand has LOT'S of laws, how many are enforced? It's a gamble I'm willing to take, maybe I lose maybe I win, you never know. Mai pen rai -

The Troubling Decline of DEI: A Step Backward for America
IME Japanese and Koreans are the hardest working. I've known some Christians who just went through the motions of working. Pay peanuts, get monkeys. -

Will Tesla Cyber trucks be legal in Thailand
Correct me if I am wrong, but in your circuitous way you are saying you are not one ' with money and influence'......? and while we are at it, could you help me understand what driving a Tesla CT has to do with a 'moral backbone'?
