Could it not also be a way of protecting the guilty? Biden's son for example.

Yes....or it protects them from an overgrown man-child hell bent on retribution for them trying to hold him to account.

How would he do that had they not committed crimes? A jury would have to convict them, yes?

Guilt complex much?

Why the pardon they haven't been officially accused of any wrongdoing!

It's amazing how broad the (p)resident's pardon power has become, essentially unlimited, now that it's not Trump potentially pardoning himself.

How are you worthy of being pardoned having been found guilty, convicted and sentenced?

Wrongful conviction. Good behaviour. Change in law in relation to historical convictions. Homosexuality would be an example of this. Drug possession another. Initial conviction seen as political. Deemed as paying debt to society i.e. have served enough time. This would be linked with good behaviour whilst incarcerated. I guess the list could be quite long.

Presumably wrongful conviction would require a retrial and good behaviour hardly 'demands' a pardon.....reduced time possibly.

Pardoned on the grounds of innocence. Strangely I always thought pardons were for people convicted of crimes but are worthy of a pardon from said convictions.

With respect, was your problem failing comprehension in primary or logic in your degree? Your post clearly shows a lack of understanding of the meaning of preemptive pardons and the reasoning failures of a false equivalence and begging the question fallacy.

Quite right. Never really knew about pre-emptive pardons until recently. As for false equivalence exactly where is it that I employed this misleading tactic and where can my logic be seen as logical fallacy? Maybe you could have the decency to point this out rather than just attack with word salad with phrases you more than likely don't fully grasp.

Haha.  You funny, Joe.

But tell me, what was Hunter's pardon for gun crimes, drug abuse and tax evasion based on?

Wrongful conviction. Good behaviour. Change in law in relation to historical convictions.

And which of these would justify a pre-emptive pardon for anything he might have done that hasn't been discovered yet, that coincidentally covers a time period starting just before his time at Burisma?

10% for the big guy goes a long way these days.

None of the above. The pre-emptive pardon was based on DADDY.

Perhaps this gives incentive for all the Rinos in the Senate to vote for Kash Patel and if confirmed  Bondi starts the investigations of everything illegal!

Only people that have committed crimes need pardons.

But let's keep in mind that a person might be convicted because of the political / juristic powers present rather than convicted because of fact.

Which could mean Biden is anticipating that the folks listed will be charged and convicted as a result of political forces, so Joe is getting ahead of the events in advance.

I hadda look it up, but the pardon begins from Jan 01 2014, which would include his drug abuse while in the Navy and his other than honourable discharge on Feb 18.  Guess he gets to keep the benefits he lost when he was removed.

Slate wiped clean.

Like, with a cloth.

Thanks, Big Guy®!!!!!

In the Middle Ages Holly Inquisition "sold" indulgencies for sins committed. However they also sold such papers for future sins. It was long before Senior Torquemada and his "innovations".

Now, more that a half millennium later this mockery of justice repeats itself. What a disgrace!

Nothing to do about the navy and everything to do about Ukraine.

And in tomorrows news:
"Donald Trump signs an executive order demanding investigation and indictment of Dr. Anthony Fauci, Gen. Mark Milley and all the members of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol"
Crystal balls 🙂
I am surprised Biden managed to say the word pardon never mind remember or pronounce the names of those he has pardoned!

Confirming that they all did break the law! Yet another "conspiracy theory" turns true. Those 30,000 must have all proven true now, how did the left concoct so many false narratives then enforce them with iron fists? Muppets
