My Alexa has been no problem for 5 years but now when I ask it to play a song , it plays for about 30 seconds then stops and says , " I am having trouble playing music from your library .

I have re- installed it a couple of times but still the same . I also read on a search where others have had the same problem and no resolution . I called Amazon who said they would pass it to their technical section and get back to me  but not yet .

Anyone got knowledge on how to solve this ?

home automation devices like Google and Alexa are experiencing a dumbing down as company reduce investment because their services are not easy to monetize.

Google Home in particular has been on a slow slide, if hadn't gone all in I'd bin it and move everything out of the cloud with Home Assistant running locally, but that would be time-consuming and potentially expensive.

unfortunately, I'm hooked on voice command, so i cope.

You can still run locally and use your GH or Alexa -

I don't use HA but homebridge, I pay a small monthly subscription for a skill that allows me to integrate my existing voice assistants in the apple ecosphere. The skill is maintained by a long standing HB developer, no data is harvested. I can use it to control lights, but rarely do, I can do fun stuff like nag the wife for a coffee in the morning when she opens the fridge and get alerts when someone presses the doorbell amongst others. Basically it uses a cheap Alexa in the same role as an overpriced homepod.

I know HA has their own voice assistant, but I would be really surprised if you cant integrate your existing devices into HA.

I do pay for a deezer subscription, because It allows me to download the FLAC files and store them locally. Music can be played via a Navidrome server, streamed to your in home devices or car - I don't trust the music streaming services.

Apparently Amazon stopped allowing Amazon music in Thailand. See Reddit and other posts for a workaround.

All my echo devices do the same here in Thailand yet when used via a VPN back to Australia, they play and react perfectly. My suspicions are it is being blocked by Amazon or the Great Firewall of Thailand.
