Visa extension
The immigration office in blue port mall in Hua Hin does extensions. As of about 5 months ago when I extended there, they just required a copy of local hotel booking, passport, and 1900 baht fee. No Tm30 copy required. There is a copy center in the mall if you need to print your hotel booking. -

EGAT and Mains Supply Meters.
Not sure where to post this to be honest, there appears to be a million forums, but the "Electrical" forum seems to have disappeared, swamped no doubt by "Weed" forums, and another 999999 other topics. Never mind, maybe someone here has some experience in EGAT Electric meters and their availability. Long long time ago I had an issue with voltage drop from my meter and the consumer panel when using my electric (10KW) water heater. We are hooked up to the meter which is a 15A / 45A meter, but were down to about 170 VAC, with our standard setup. Crossey suggested that we add a couple of pigtails to our cable from the meter and then double up the aluminium cables to the consumer unit to get better current flow. Well, that worked fine for about 3 years until we apparently destroyed EGAT's electric meter - which they replaced free of charge - but were really pissed about me doubling up the cables - but that the hell.... I sae an article recently where a guy mentioned that he had upgraded from the 15/45A meter to a newer 30/100 A supply. I am interested to hear if anyone here is using this supply and is it a unique or different set of feed conductors that supply this power from EGAT or is there a need for 3 phase or an uprated supply? - I asked our local EGAT guy and he hadn't even heard of 30/100A. From what I can gather, all charges for the monthly rental and the unit cost of the electric is exactly the same as 15/45 - Anyone pitch in and shed some light on this and its availability? Be nice to get upgraded before I burn out another of EGAT's meters. Thanks! -

Minimum level of Thai knowledge and language for long term residents
Me neither guys and on the mark with these posts. I never had any intention of learning Thai either and consider myself a baby in the language in essence my family talk Thai around me all the time and I think that is what accelerates you more into wanting to understand what is being spoken about especially if you love the lady you are with (I think the moderator should remove this post for being too sloppy 🙂 🙂 -

Phuket to use AI for traffic congestion relief amid road projects
AI will probably do better than RTP. I have seen many times that between two crossings, one police officers let the cars drive and at the same time at the other crossing the cars are being stopped or guards of schools hold up the traffic with a result of severe congestions.. And that is not only in one place.. I always say that if the RTP is starting to control the traffic it will be a mess -

Does air conditioning reduce PM2.5 ?
air purifiers usually indicate the recommended room size in square meters. from my experience, the air circulation capacity (m³) should be at least three times the room's volume. factors like the room's air tightness and the severity of maximum air pollution can influence this value. when buying an air purifier, also consider the availability of replacement filters. even simple and inexpensive air purifiers can do their job well, but they are often quite noisy. do not forget to buy also a pm2.5 meter ....
