Why Democrats Hold the Advantage for 2028 and Beyond

None of them.  Most likely to come from Gavin Newsom, Josh Shapiro,  J B Pritzker, Gretchen Whitmer.  Don't discount Michelle Obama either!

Shapiro and Big Mike are the only ones on that list that I'd cross the street to shake hands with.  And Big Mike only out of curiosity whether the photographers have been hiding an Adams apple.

  • Dream on, the Hill is of course 100% anti Trump and Republican, nothing but wishful thinking propaganda for a defeated party who the electorate have just rejected.

  • Trump, who I admit is crazy won by an overwhelming margin.  People are so sick of liberal ideals and their stupid nominees.  Vance is a calmer, smarter version of Trump.  He will win easily in 2028.

It took Trump's oversized ego to put up with the absolute crap show that it takes for an outsider with no decades old political machine to run for president.  He kicked the door down.  He'll be followed by calmer, saner people like Vance.

But calm, sane people could never open that door.  Ross Perot was proof of that.

Meanwhile, it's fun to watch...

I'm of the opinion that the founding fathers never intended a political class ruling America.  They expected for good people to put down their lawbooks and their tools to run for office, serve a few years, then go back to live in the society and economy they created.  Not to latch onto the gub'ment tit right out of school, with no real world knowledge, and keep sucking until they went senile.  And then a few more years.

Indeed, the certified "expert" class.

As the 2028 election approaches, the Republican Party finds itself facing significant challenges, while Democrats appear well-positioned to solidify their dominance not only in 2028 but also in 2032.

Consider the source.

Anyway, If they're serious, they sure did pick the wrong picture to accompany the story.

My take: absent some calamity and the end of the world, the Democrats have ended their hopes of being elected to anything for a long long time.

It is amusing that there are people that believe Harris will be better equipped to win in 2028.

How great would a Harris-Vance debate be?

Harris couldn't even handle an unscripted press conference, for this who didn't notice.

Regardless of policies.....they have to put forward a white, middle-aged Christian family man......anything else and many voters baulk at voting for them.

This is a joke, right?  Trump has been in the WH barely a week!

The Republicans are the planners. Democratic politics seem quite chaotic. When Democratic presidencies start out, they typically have not developed legislation ready to pass, and they waste precious months and lose momentum. Republicans take projects developed on K Street long before the election, ready to go in the first 100 days.

Remember the tribulations over passing Obamacare? If they had done it before Ted Kennedy died, it would have sailed through.

The speculation about 2028 candidates is pretty meaningless at this point. Worry about 2026 first.

Maybe it's time for Ross Perot's party to be resurected. This time people could have used a choice beyond the Green Party.

And had the RINO McCain not turned out to be a spiteful POC, we would not be stuck with it now.

That said, not much planning went into Trump's first term. A little different this time around.

Agree.

The last year has been horrific for their credibility.

Pretending Joe was "sharp as a tack".

Then kicking him out because he wasn't.

Then choosing DEI Harris.

Getting smashed at the election.

Then Biden pardoning his crime family after promising not to on the day he left.

It will be a long time before they are trusted again.

Don't bet on it. To their boneheaded base, they are more credible than ever.

American voters are schizophrenic manic depressives. They always over-correct over perceived slights and vote for the exact opposite every 4 years.

Soon, Trump will have another health crisis to hilariously botch, plus inflation, plus the usual drama-fatigue that is already settling in, 2 weeks in.

Some white male democrat will stumble upon the right outrage to beat him over the head with like Muh Eggs, and it will be another dull shift back into Biden-Land.

I don't think they really believe half of what they spout.

They just have so much hate in their heart for Trump. They are seething.

They can't admit that Joe kicked them in the teeth with his parting present. But they know it.

The smart ones know it's all BS, but the boneheads posting here don't seem to, they're the true believers.

Not true at all.  They could put up a black guy.  Obama proved that.  Or a woman of any color.

But they need a competent candidate.  Not one chosen specifically for him/her ticking boxes.  And not one that calls out half the populace as "deplorables".

Nah, people just want their check and government goodies delivered to them.

Which party wants to cut said goodies, and which party consistently delivers them?

I hope! I hope! I hope! But I haven't seen anything like this starting to happen yet... 🥹

"As the 2028 election approaches, the Republican Party finds itself facing significant challenges, while Democrats appear well-positioned to solidify their dominance not only in 2028 but also in 2032."

These morons still think they last because Harris is a black woman, let them keep believing it.

 Little people like me.

Can we hear more about how little you are?

How does the macro-economic goings on of either party affect your (admittedly) little life at all?

Me? I am medium-sized. I just laugh off all of the handwringing of drama queen eternal victims.

The quicker they distance themselves from that disaster of an administration and candidate(s), the better their chances of salvaging any gains in '26 and '28.   But they'll keep doubling down on Diversity Good and Orange Man Bad.   And then they'll wonder why they lost.  Again.

As an aside, and completely unsubstantiated, Putin last week referred to the stolen election of 2020.  I'm inclined to think his intelligence apparatus has the goods...

I'm like Mungo in Blazing Saddles.  Only pawn, in game of life...

Can you imagine getting that movie made today?

You are intermittently sensible here so I hope that some day, you can apsire to lower-medium status.

You know, Pad Thai WITH the prawns.

The dems do excel at bring the outrage machine into action.
