He might lose his citizenship over this... but hey, destination visa might still be an option.

The article first referred to him as a Thai-Indian, but later in the article he became a foreigner again.

Nonsense. If he his  part Thai, he can not be stripped of his legal citizenship.

Wrong.

Thai nationality can be revoked by the Minister of Interior.

NATIONALITY ACT, B.E. 2508 (1965)

Section 19.  The Minister shall have the power to revoke Thai nationality of a person who acquires Thai nationality by naturalization, if it appears that:

(1) the naturalization is effected by concealment of facts or making false statement of essential facts;

(2) there is evidence indicating that the naturalized person still uses his or her former nationality;

(3) having committed any act prejudicial to the national security or conflicting with the interests of the State or amounting to an insult to the nation;

(4) having committed any act in contrary to the public order or good morals;

(5) having resided aboard without having a domicile in Thailand for more than five years;

(6) having retained the nationality of the country at war with Thailand.

You can still be stripped of Thai citizenship if 100% Thai in certain circumstances as well.

Describing someone as Thai-Indian is a biased colonial approach. Someone is either a Thai or an Indian national . They may have an ethnic origin of Indian, but that does not make them any less a Thai.

A Thai would disagree there. They are still a kek in a Thai's eyes.

You do not understand the law and are reading a partial translation. Go read the full law. Better yet, read a proper legal interpretation.  If the person is Thai,  and  meets the lineage requirement ,his citizenship cannot be removed as it would  render him stateless.   The law allows for revoking citizenship only in regard to naturalized Thais and specifically  with respect to a person who has Thai nationality, by reason of his having been born within the Thai Kingdom of an alien father, his Thai nationality may be revoked   when it meets the conditions listed.

As I stated previously, if Thailand could revoke citizenship, it would have done that to the Thaksin clan.

Here is a  good explanation of the law, from Siam Legal. https://library.siam-legal.com/thai-law/nationality-act-loss-of-thai-nationality-sections-13-22/

That may be true with some Thais, but it does not change the fact that it is a colonial mentality. Thailand does have a colonial mentality when it comes to its neighbors with many Thais believing that they are superior to them.
