It is necessary to separate the defense front and the victory front.

What is happening in Ukraine is the defense front. Modern warfare relies on drones. And drones are just money that was used to buy Chinese spare parts and assemble them. The economy of NATO countries is many times larger than the economy of Russia. Russia's competitors understand this perfectly well and hope to win this way. Russia does not need many soldiers on the defense front. It needs exactly as many to hold back the onslaught of NATO forces. If there are more soldiers, NATO will send exactly the same number of lost tourists who accidentally found weapons in the forest near the front lines. As a result, the front line will remain there, but more people will die.

What is a victory front for Russia? Dmitry Medvedev, Putin's closest ally, said this from the very beginning of the SMO. He said that Russia cannot lose because of its nuclear weapons.

Nuclear weapons are serviced by several tens of thousands of professional soldiers. This number is quite enough to win when the time comes.

That's quite a ramble.

Medvedev is a drunken lunatic.

Scaring the west with nuke threats is a key part of Putin's propaganda game. Emphasis on threats.

You have described very accurately what the Russian leader is doing. Putin is not going to use nuclear weapons. He is going to scare people using the media, but not only. Vlad knows that in one nation prone to excessive panic, there is, for example, the city of New York, where they have built tens of thousands of nuclear war shelters, saying that they are supposedly not afraid at all. Therefore, he will only scare America. There is no point in scaring war-hardened Europe.
