Couple Shocked as Pet Dogs Bring Home 400 Meth Pills

A couple in Udon Thani was left stunned when they returned home to find their pet dogs had dragged a bag containing 400 methamphetamine pills onto their property and torn it open. Alarmed by the discovery, they immediately contacted the police.

 

The incident took place in Nong Bua Subdistrict, Mueang Udon Thani District, at around 17:30 on 31st January. Police Lieutenant Wikanes Suetrong, deputy inspector at Mueang Udon Thani Police Station, received a report that a group of dogs had found and carried illegal drugs onto private property. Officers from the 191 patrol unit and the investigation team were dispatched to the scene.

 

Upon arrival, police found Mr. Kritsada (44) and Ms. Laddawan (42), the homeowners, waiting for them. The couple had placed a black plastic container over the narcotics to prevent their seven pet dogs from further damaging the drug packets. Officers found two blue plastic bags containing 400 methamphetamine pills, along with over ten loose pills scattered on the ground.

 

Security camera footage showed the couple returning home by car. Ms. Laddawan was the first to step out of the vehicle, immediately noticing a torn plastic bag with scattered pills on the ground. Recognising the appearance of the tablets from news reports, she called her husband over. Unable to determine which of their dogs had carried the drugs home, the couple swiftly alerted the authorities.

 

Ms. Laddawan explained that their dogs frequently retrieve discarded objects such as rubbish bags and children’s toys from the surrounding area. Each morning, she regularly clears away the collected debris. Police suspect that a drug dealer may have hidden the meth pills near an electric pole, in a bush, or inside a rubbish bin, and that the dogs stumbled upon them before bringing them home.

 

The Mueang Udon Thani Police Station has seized the methamphetamine pills as evidence and launched an investigation to track down the source of the drugs. Officers are working to determine whether the narcotics were intended for a pickup by local drug traffickers or accidentally left behind.

Hope they'll get a receipt for the pills.

I wouldn't have told the Police in case they arrested me for drug possession. I'd have disposed of the drugs. I don't trust the Police to understand.

They should have been arrested for having 7 dogs not secured properly and allowed to roam the streets and attack kids.

Or given a medal, as just imagine if some youngins found them, and thought they were candy.

 

You assume a lot, that the dogs are vicious, or even roam the streets where kids play.  May live very rural for all we know.  Or even in urban setting, and well behaved.

 

Nong Bua district, UT, can be either, but looking quite rural to me.  We have plenty of dogs roaming around my area, and none are aggressive.   That's saying a lot, since I walk our dog around the area.

while I agree with you,  and it's thankful that none do bite,   it doesn't make it right.   Any owners of dogs anywhere should have them fenced or secured,   it's not right that they can roam as I'm sure some will chase chickens or cats or whatever,   it's just wrong.

I'm sorry but I think the police need to question those dogs.

"Your honor I found this bag with 400 meth pills".

Wasn't there a Cheech and Chong bit like this?

 

Do the cops just assume the dogs are innocent of involvement in drug trafficking?

Or are the dogs slipping the brown envelopes to the cops?

After reporting and disclosing the area to the police, I would not sleep so peacefully, despite a multitude of dogs.
After all, the drug dealer is not so happy and might well seek redress from the Mrs and Mr.
