Auto-generated account statement from the bank - Retirement extension

Apologies for creating a new topic, but this is something I haven't seen anywhere else.

 

I have SCB account. In the App, it is possible to generate an Account Statement going back one year. It is then sent to my email, password protected. Each month is a separate document and has all the deposits and withdrawals on SCB letterhead (bilingual). So 12 statements or 6 or whatever I want.

 

Anyone know (or better still tried this) if sufficient to print these from home and then just get the account ownership letter from the branch? Or do think immigration would want to see a bunch of rubber stamps from the bank on the account statements (no stamps on auto-generated but each month on letterhead)?

Yes

SCB can do the 12 month bank statement on the spot 200b 

Allow some time it can take 30 mins or so.

You can obtain the 12 month statement few days prior. 

If I recall you are located in Bangkok.

As you would be aware SCB has no branch at CW.

You can also obtain "bank letter" prior to day of application.

I prefer to do it one day prior even though my bank Kasikorn has branch there.

My most recent extension (Nov 5) bank was extremely busy apart from teller. 

I made 100b deposit to update bb and show activity. 

SCB guys can do that at IT mall LakSi

Yes, but I have read reports on here of banks stamping and signing self printed statements.

I also have read of an office in the boonies doing that.

OP deals with CW doubtful they will accept what he suggests.

He can get bank statement direct from bank up to 7 days early. 

Best option is day prior.

I'm with ttb Bank and generate my own statements from the app and print them off periodically throughout the year, but can also do 12 months in 1 hit if I wish to. When I obtain my bank letter for my extension I also ask the bank to stamp the final page of the statement. Been doing that for the past 8 years and Immigration have always accepted it. Just make sure you get your bank to stamp your printout (not every page) and you should be ok.

SCB? You will be lucky - I cannot even get their damn update machines to update my passbook! I have tried about 5 different machines and none of them work - It either gives a "Magnetic Strip Error" or a "Page Flip Error" and if I persist in retrying, the machines go into lockdown mode after about 10 attempts.

 

Bankbook is new, magnetic strip reads fine at the bank via a teller, works fine in the machine outside the bank in the mall (machines are in pristine condition - indoors, well cleaned etc. - Go out into the real world and most of the machines are at the side of the road in the open air, maybe they collect dust, who knows, but they just do not work!

 

So hope for an automated statement is probably asking for the impossible.

 

As the previous poster stated, you can call into your SCB bank and they will print off a statement for 200 Baht, there on the spot.

 

Anyone have any success updating your passbooks?

The OP is dealing with CW.

That immigration office wants update on day of application and "activity" 

Both can be achieved by 100b deposit with teller.

The issue is SCB do not have branch at CW. 

However can be done by attending bank on day of application.

Why don't you strongly request that they do? Krungsri in Hua Hin do it without being asked.

Yesterday, 06/02, I printed a one year bank statement from the Bangkok bank app/email option and presented to Chiang Mai Immigration together with all of the other required documents for a retirement extension. 

There was no bank stamp on the statement and no problem with the statement. 

All papers were declared in order and accepted though next year I will ask Bangkok bank to stamp the statement when I request their bank certificate as there is no point in taking an unnecessary risk.

As an aside, last year I presented the bank statement, but the statement was returned and I was told bank statements were no longer necessary.  Further, the CM Imm online booking system provides a printout of the required documents but there is no mention of statements so I was caught unawares when I took the documents to Immigration the day before for checking. 

Bangkok bank take one week to provide one year of bank statements so the app/email printout was my only option.

 

BTW:  CM Imm permit the application of the retirement visa up to 45 days in advance however you need to be aware of how CM Imm count these 45 days! CM Imm count all days including the day of the application AND the day the current retirement extension expires hence the 45 days in advance turns out to be 44 days in reality i.e.,  I attended CM Imm on the 06/02 but was asked to return toda,y 07/02, due to being 46 days in advance.  My extension is valid until 23/03 so be careful.

 

FYI: CM Imm require the following documents: -

The TM7 application with copies of the TM6, TM30, TM47 and the passbook updated on the day of application.  

An IO checked all paper work on 05/02 and said the passbook having been updated on 04/02 was acceptable but this was not the case on 06/02. 

Finally, as a test of the 100 baht requirement, I updated the passbook with 10 baht and was pleased to see this was acceptable 🙂

Surely TM6 was not required.

The IO said I needa a bank statement even though I had copies of the passbook.  Who am I to argue 🙂

Many years ago CM Imm asked for the TM30 to be copied onto the TM47 photocopy. 

CM Imm require one 90 day report attached to the passport and a seperate copy of nthe 90 day report with the TM30.

 

CM Imm also asked for the TM6 to be copied onto the photocopy of the original visa passport page. 

As I said, these request were years ago and I have never changed.

I booked online and this is the document requirement from the online booking confirmation:-

There it is in black and white but no mention of a bank statement !!

 

Each year I have updated my checklist for the following years application. 

As time progressed, slowly the checklist reached maturity but still I was caught out with the statement requirement 😭

Nup.

One TM6 not required.

Two the information of original  visa is transferred into any new pp.

The 100 Baht deposit was a notional value, I withdraw 1,900 Baht (the fee for the extension) and update the book while waiting for the bank to open, have done for years without any problems, but who knows in the future.

I know of the changes to the TM6 requirements but we both know immigration is a law unto itself so how can you say:-

At the end of the day, I fulfilled the CM Imm requirements, obtained my extension and I am a happy bunny.

I only posted my experience to inform others but if they can get away without copying TM6's, arranging statements or whatever then all well and good but I will, as others will no doubt, do exactly what IO dictate in order to keep all relevsant parties sweet.

I never access my immigration account other than to update my passbook and I do not even have an ATM card for that account.

Today I discovered I can lock my immigrationa account so now I have set this account such  that I cannot withdraw funds.  Deposits are not affected.  Maybe not foolporoof but a step in the right direction to ensure I never have less than B800k in my immigration account.

I kill several birds with one stone by transferring the fee for the visa extension into my "seasoned" bank account the day before my appointment.

When I arrive at CW, I withdraw the fee, update my bank book,  go into the bank for my letter, to the photocopy guys for the copies of everything,  and finally upstairs to see the nice ladies in L27.

Previously I did exactly that. (except my deposit is 100b) 

I have now changed slightly.

 

I obtain the 12 month bank statement and bank letter day prior to application.

After arriving at CW I attend Bank and make the deposit and ask teller for photocopy of that last page to show the update + activity.

Reason: Now the banks can be very busy, however that's for bank letter etc. 

The tellers for deposit withdrawal no que. 

 

Also I note you mention L27.

Even easier is to do an online transfer of say Bht 1000 from one account to another and then back again. Then update the books.

Stick with what works for you.

At CW the banks (apart from SCB) are L1. 

You can make deposit of eg 100b.

The teller will copy page from bb.

The balance on day of application does not need to be same as 12 month bank statement you obtain days earlier.
