I am getting a new passport while at home in UK next month. Will having a new passport number cause any problems at Heathrow, these machines you check in with will be expecting the old number that the ticket was booked on. Flying on Eva.

I really can't see it being a problem. Also, there are plenty of helpful staff lurking around the self service kiosks. If there is an issue, EVA check-in counters open at around 5.30pm (assuming EVA evening flight to BKK). They will be in the back left corner as you enter T2 check-in area. I think they are usually Air Canada until they change to EVA check-in at the time I mentioned.

They are really meant for Royal Laurel or Gold card members etc but they are usually amenable to people asking questions.
