In 2024, the gap had been the highest in history. The figure you quoted is true, but it is surely not as relevant as the reality of what is happening. -

Songkhla Monkeys Arrested
I can't answer your question however I used to walk monkey hill in Songkhla most evenings in 2000, 2001 when dating my former wife. Always a pleasant walk, as the monkeys, or rather, long tailed macaques, were not too vicious those days. Used to watch them jumping from the trees into the pond at the top of the hill. -

Selfish much? for someone who's here for a few days or even a week cutting away 1-2 days of their vacation due to a religious holiday for a religion they don't practice nor care about IS awful Yes, but in practice what happens is a bit different and differs between provinces. Pattaya yesterday some venues were open until midnight, some clubs completely closed, and a few clubs open until 2:45am. Tonight they all open around 11pm-midnight. Bangkok everything was closed after midnight yesterday, clubs mostly all closed, and will open tonight after midnight. -
