.........revealed that multiple agencies, including the Royal Thai Police, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and other key departments, are spearheading the crackdown.

Simply stop Foreigner have the possibility to become share holders and / or Directors in Thai Companies who operate in Thai Only Business . 🤔 ( No Foreigner can be Director or have shares in Restaurants , Tour Business , All the list of Thai Only activities ....) This would reduce drastically the Foreigner investment in those activities .

The Thai government has launched a robust campaign against nominee businesses, prosecuting 820 cases linked to nearly 12.5 billion baht (£272 million) in damages. These actions primarily target enterprises where Thai nationals hold shares on behalf of foreigners, sidestepping the Foreign Business Act.

They are obviously trying to go after businesses that are using Thai proxies to engage in businesses reserved for Thais. Nothing new. Pops up every year, but it is becoming more of an issue now with letting most everyone a free 60 day entry and the Chinese and Russians are using this to open illegal businesses and just swapping out staff every couple of months. It’s hardly about most people who buy houses under a Thai company just for living. Sure it can happen, but it’s not common. They are going after businesses and homes bought and used for business.
