A 14-year-old boy has died after being hit by a pickup truck while trying to escape a chasing dog on his motorcycle in Ayutthaya. A second truck following closely behind was unable to stop in time, running over the victim.

The fatal crash occurred at around 19:05 on 18 February on Chompol P. Road in Khung Lan Subdistrict, Bang Pa-in District, Ayutthaya. CCTV footage showed a black dog running after passing motorcycles, causing riders to swerve to avoid it.

Unfortunately, as 14-year-old Chatcha tried to evade the dog, a pickup truck travelling straight down the road struck him head-on, throwing him over the bonnet and onto the road. A second pickup truck following closely behind, was unable to brake in time, resulting in a secondary impact.

Rescue volunteers from the Phutthaisawan Foundation rushed to the scene after being alerted to a severely injured victim. They found Chatcha unconscious and unresponsive, with no vital signs. The team immediately performed CPR while coordinating with Uthai Hospital’s emergency medical team. Despite all efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital.

At the scene, the second pickup truck was inspected, showing damage to its front left bumper, while Chatcha’s red motorcycle lay overturned in the middle of the road.

The driver of the second truck, still in shock, stated that he had been driving behind another pickup when the first vehicle hit the motorcycle and fled the scene. He explained that he was unable to stop in time and unintentionally ran over the boy.

Authorities from Bang Pa-in Police Station have launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage that clearly captured the sequence of events. Officers are now working to locate the first pickup driver, who fled after the initial collision. Meanwhile, the driver of the second truck will be questioned further.

The victim’s body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Pathum Thani, and his family has been notified.

Excellent effort.
Now this casualty is not marked in the list of traffic accidents
He was already dead on the spot, but let's carry the poor lad to the hospital and let the hospital declare him death SHORTLY AFTER his arrival.
You need to love the Thais for their ability to fabricate their lies.

First, the dogs here are a menace in every place and town. However, if the boy who is only 14 would have followed the law, he would still be alive.

Sad again, but a 14 year old is not allowed to drive a motorcycle

oh, according the headline, I thought the dog was driving a motorbike and the boy was fleeing. (sorry for my bad taste, but honestly when i glanced at the headline that was my first thought)

yes, it is sad. I have often seen people on bicycles and motorbikes swerve as dogs run towards them. Maybe someone older and more experienced woyuld have stood their ground as I don't think I have ever seen a dog make contact with a motorcyclist.

The police should be questioning and charging whoever gave the keys and permission for a 14-year-old to be using a motorbike in the evening when dark. Bet you no helmet, insurance, or tax either for the bike. The cops should also find out if the dog was a stray or owned by someone... most likely a stray but if not, then bring charges against the owner too.
