KannikaP Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Isn't your original Passport good enough. They let you into the country with it.

Thanks. Certifying ID for what exactly... your information is too thin for any reasonable advice to be offered. i.e. is it an MFA verified translation of a notarised copy of your Passport thats required ?? (just one example of ID that requires certification in certain circumstances).

If so, they have their online processes to do that, where they sent you a QR code, then you use the camera to verify your face and then the passport..... It should all be port of the process... But... you are still missing detail... help you out still requires too much guess work if you can't be specific. If all you need is 'Paperwork' then you should be able to get a copy of your Passport Notarised at the British Embassy.... Give them a call.

You don't send your original passport to open an International bank account. They require a certified copy, which isn't that easy to get in Thailand, because a Thai professional will not do. 1

I want my ID certifying to open a specific bank account. Did I miss something out? 🙄 Yes... specifics... As an example, IF you want to open an HSBC offshore account, while there are no Public Bank offices here, there are (were) business offices here and they can certify your passport etc... Alternatively, IF you wanted to open a Barclays Overseas account, there maybe some 'notary services' that are considered acceptable - but only those who have specific experience would know .... There are so many variables we can't keep guessing.... asking for help and giving limited information is not helping people help you... Its not just you... a lot of people come on here and ask questions unaware of the variables and alternatives.... If you simply want notary services at the British Embassy... then a quick google search brings you here..... https://www.gov.uk/guidance/documents-for-british-people-abroad#legalising-uk-documents 1 1 1

richard_smith237 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 26 minutes ago, BenCrew said: Okay, to be more specific: Could have been a much shorter thread... Its for Lloyds Bank who require notarisation of a passport - while in Thailand thats the British Embassy. You'll have to call and make an appointment. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/documents-for-british-people-abroad#legalising-uk-documents
