Just want to know if you should buy an onward flight out of thailand within 60 days or it should be fine within 90 days as there is the possibility to extend 60 days for another 30 days at the local immigration. This is regarding come to thailand with a tourist visa 60 days or free 60 days exemption

I would also need to understand how many flights you should buy in case you want to apply for a METV. One ticket from your country or residence to thailand and then another flight from thailand to another asian country? What else?

It's not a visa.

You are flying visa exempt entry.

The airline at departure may require onward flight.

Best option is within 60 days however recent posts indicate that within 90 would be possible by explaining intention to obtain 30 day extension.

The METV would be an eVisa application. You will provide what's required in that application.

Most likely flight into Thailand.

Flight out within 60 and perhaps some accommodation details upon entry.

Best to outline how long you plan to stay in Thailand for best advice.

9 months or up to 1 year

Some airlines require onward flight for boarding, others do not.

Buy a $14 booking for an onward flight for your first trip if you don't know ezzackly when you plan to depart.

For a 12 month stay in Thailand I suggest a METV would be good option.

That will cover up to 9 months and then border bounce for visa exempt entry using border run company can extent the stay

So, if i get 6 months METV i can apply for 30 days extension at my local immigration every 60 days i will do a border run? And then i could do more border run when the METV will finish?

METV allows multiple entries.

You are stamped in for 60 days.

You can apply for 30 day extension each entry.

By exit and reenter just prior to expiry of METV you would be stamped in for 60.

Then can extend by 30.

Hence 9 months.

After that a border run for 60 which can be extended by 30

Yes however 100% do not do border run without using minivan agent.

Bangkok/Pattaya to Cambodia good option.

Keep up to date with reports closer to time you need it

great, thanks for the info. However, there is something not clear on how many ticket flights i should buy as i will have to upload it on the e-visa application, for the embassy. They want to see one ticket from my country to thailand, one ticket exit thailand within 60 days, one ticket to thailand again and another one out of thailand within 6 months. It should be like that?

When you select "multiple" there's a little warning that says you need to justify the multiple entries.  It has been reported from many embassies that means you must show a flight into Thailand, a flight out of Thailand within 60 days, and then another flight into Thailand.  This shows the reason you need multiple entries.  Without showing the intent to enter multiple times, the embassy might instead issue a single entry visa and you would lose the difference in price.

Normally don't need to show a 2nd exit, just 2 entries.
