While you did not quote price, I say any more than $400 USD is a no go.

CPU Weak, DRAM Low, Radeon 660M Graphics Weak, 512 GB HDD a joke.

Lenovo or reseller trying to move out very old inventory.

You can do better.

Price is 16,000 baht or $467 US. I'd be happy for you to point out anything with better specs for a similar price, like I said just for home use no gaming.

No.

512GB relates to an SSD, not a HDD and it's fine. You are just ''overegging the pudding'.

They aren't going to come back with anything better. Some people are just good at being negative. If they had something better in mind, they would have included it at the time.

16k is good. I expected 16.5k.

I don't know why people quote prices in US$ when in Thailand. Out of touch I guess.

Unless you're a gamer, or wish to do several hours of heavy video/graphics work each day, it will be fine. Perfect for email, business letters, watching videos, etc.

Is there a mini PC (with Win 11) that has similar (or better) specs under 12,000 baht? That allows for another 5000 baht to spend on a monitor to keep the price roughly the same, ie 16-17000 baht.

I'm no longer in Thailand some 7 years after a 32 year stint there.

Hence why I quote in USD $ and not Thai Baht.

Last I checked ex rate 4 years ago, was 25 to dollar, so I thought it was $650.

Did not know rate is now 35 to dollar.

I gave my opinion based on what could be gotten here, so many better options.

At $400 here can get a lot, for Thailand is decent, for him in this regard considering his age and usage.

Would come with a warranty, as everything here does also.

Still I would bring RAM to 16GB and up the SSD to 1TB.

Apologies if I annoyed any of you with sensitive natures ie SAMIEI

But not really as my post was not intended to do such, so get over it.

Further I don't give a hoot how much RAM was in Apollo or in old calculators (I had the HP w 128K).

For a basic PC for home, I'd buy a refurbished unit for no more than a couple hundred bucks. You can also buy a little PC stick that plugs into the HDMI port of your TV. I bought one for about $100 a couple of years ago and it still works just fine

That's a lot of words to say that you got it all wrong. Not useful to compare against what is being sold in the U.S.A.

For what reason would you suggest that he should pay more to get an internal 1TB SSD?

There is no cogent reason other than some arbitrary figure inside your head. 8GB of RAM is also adequate to the task, though of course 16GB may be a little better.

You just over exaggerated on everything, damaged your own credibility and then made it worse by coming back and being rude.

I suggest that you stop digging.

Yes, but then you lose your 3 year local warranty and any support you might need going forward. They are better for people with some confidence with minor maintenance.

Example: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/gmk-m7-mini-pc-amd-r7-6850h-radeon-680m-ddr5-m2-2280-ssd-windows-11-pro-four-screen-display-dual-25g-lan-12-month-warranty-i5291996793-s22536036959.html

In your case, I would not. Sold from unofficial outlets, posing as official outlets. Not a good look.

I have a Lenovo AIO that I bought new from Lazada 7 years ago which has been trouble free, however the monitor is starting to lose pixels and I have a line at the top of the screen where any text is now unreadable. Think it's time for an upgrade.

My main desktop has a 14 year old intel CPU and a 14 years old nvidia display card, running Linux Mint Cinnamon.

I use it for all my work, video editing, watching movies etc

The only thing I can't use it for is any gaming.

If you are only doing light tasks and web browsing, plus some media consumption, then you don't need much.

32GB would be even better. But it will be fine with 8GB.

People tend to repeat stuff parrot fashion with no real understanding of what they are talking about.

Minimum requirement for Windows 11 is 4GB of RAM. 8GB is adequate for everyday usage.

Depends what you want to use the computer for. For videos not really, needs to be changed out.

What are you talking about? What videos and what needs to be "changed out"?

One of the first things I do when I want to check a price in Thailand is look up the same product on Amazon or EBay or even Walmart.  That means using USD (or GBP if it's Amazon or Ebay.uk).

Some products, Thailand is cheaper.  Sometimes, though, Thailand prices are way out of line.  In which case, I seek a different product that will do the job I need without gouging me.  That's hardly "out of touch".
