has pledged to review the issue and determine whether the recent accidents were caused by road conditions or the structural design of the buses

............because it couldn't be the fault of the drivers.

Correct, therefore drivers in Thailand need to pay more attention and be skilled in what they're doing, or is that too much to ask.

That is entirely too much to ask.

Can't you be satisfied with a public relations announcement that the authorities are looking into it?

Correct how many red London double deckers crashed and killed hundreds during their time in operating.

Correct?   Killed hundreds?

How many Thai double-decker buses _on comparable city commuter routes similar to London's buses) have crashed and killed hundreds?

Guess we need to accept this as the considered best outcome.

Well it's not 100% correct, because UK buses do travel long distances but maybe at a more sensible speed that comes with training, policy and a few smarts.

Mate, UK double-deckers do NOT travel long distances, certainly not on regular runs/schedules, so stop the BS

The buses are not the problem. The problem is bus drivers driving those vehicles are unacceptable and uncontrollable speeds and the BIB don't do a thing about it!

And regulate thier driving hours, oh, and drug test them on a regular basis.

Last month my Thai granddaughter (from Chiang Mai) attended a university activity in Bangkok. Initially the students / parents were told 'only single storey buses' but on arrival at the CM campus a row of double storey buses.

Teacher in charge hoffified and tried to get the fleet changed to single story only. One powerful parent was able to get a win for the Double storey buses. (Granddaughter says the student son of the powerful parent has since removed himself from his study from CMU after he got ostracized at the event in Bkk.)

One item, granddaughter shared they every bus has 2 drivers and the driver changed every 3 hours. The students (many <incl granddaughter> monitored the change of driver.

No extension of driving time was permitted, it did change at 3 hrs. but of course there's more to this situation besides driver change.

Yes, part of the problem is the size and structural designs but I believe most of the problem are caused by the operators. The buses should be fitted with governors or regulators so they can't exceed a certain speed.

There are double decker buses all over the world but you don't hear of horrific accidents such as in Thailand.......

Try typing "how many double decker bus crashes in the world" into a search engine and see how many results you get.

It is called searching internet news for results. There are dozens of them.

A call for this, a call for that..nothing will change just more carnage and dead people.

Yes, and birth numbers are already declining too, and then more fatal road accidents, the country is running out of people.
Harsh but true.
